I will be in DL for Valentine's Day with my gf and have never eaten at the Blue Bayou. I was thinking of eating there for lunch or dinner.

The park is going to be open from 10am - 8pm.

What would be the best time to eat there?

What would you recommend to eat?

Sorry if some of this was answered before in the other thread. The other one has kind of gone off on a tangent.

If you want to go on Valentine's day, make sure you get priority seating as soon as possible.

Lunch Pros (I don't think I've eaten at the Blue Bayou for dinner)
1) You can only get the Monte Cristo Sand. at lunch
2) Smaller portions (Don't stuff yourself as badly)
3) The price is a little better (especially if your an AP)
4) The temperature inside can be a definate plus (for cold or really hot weather)

If you can, try to ask for a water side table when you arrive. It's worth a 15-20 minute wait.

I would recommend lunch as well, the pricing is better and the wait won't be as bad as dinnertime. And might I recommend something? If you want to make the day romantic I would recommend getting chocolate covered strawberries at Whitewater Snacks, I saw them there the other day and they looked really delicious! Perfect for a V-Day snack.

We just had dinner there for the first time today. I was happy with the dinner menu.. and was happy to have the premiere AP for the discount :geek:

Lunch time may be more busy than dinner time - you may want to keep that in mind also. And request a table by the water, we had one and the kids LOVED it.

Lunch if you want to show her that you're smart with money. Dinner if you want to make a grand gesture.

We'll be on our way home that day, so dinner for us will probably be at Mike's Roadhouse Cafe in Kettleman City. It's a fun spot to eat, but it's not the BB.

I would say schedule your reservation or 1 PM or maybe 1:30 PM. This is when I usually schedule mine.

Lunch for the reasons mentioned: you can get a monte cristo, the prices won't be as bad. And if you time it for a 'non-traditional' time- early or later than 'normal' lunch, the crowds shouldn't be as bad.

Put me down as a lunch as well. I'd rather hang out in Disneyland after dark outside, rather than inside a restaurant.

And I agree that the chocolate covered strawberries are yummy and romantic. :)

Lunch at 11:30. If you make reservations you have a good chance of getting a water table. We always go at 11:30 since it is the first seating. Lunch is way cheaper than dinner too!

Yum.

I forgot about the strawberries.

Are the in season yet?

I hate the cherries.

Lunch, if you want to look smarter. ;)

Make sure and ask to wait for a water-side table-- It's worth it.

I would go for lunch and try to get a "reservation" as close to the BB opening as possible. You will have better chance for a waterside table and hopefully won't have too long of a wait.

Have fun.

I wonder what I am getting for Valentine's Day? I know I am not getting a surprise trip to DL and lunch at the Blue Bayou

To add the the "lunch" chorus: I think it's more fun/magical to enjoy the bayou evening atmosphere at lunch, when it's light outside. You can have a romantic evening right in the middle of your day.

I decided to go with 1:30 pm ressies at BB. That way I can stop by at 1:10 or so and ask for a waterside table.

What do you think I should try?

I say skip that greasy Monte Cristo and go straight for dessert. Have a dessert and coffee and enjoy the atmosphere without paying the high prices for a full meal. :)

I'm not concerned about prices at DL when we go, if I did I would bring in my own food from the outside and eat at one of the many tables.

We eat around 1:30 every time we go.

That is such a good idea.
