The Disneyland Resort has raised its prices as of January 4th, 2005.... All prices are listed as Adults/Kids 3-9

Single Day, Single Park ticket $53/$43 - up $3.25 or 6.5%

Single Day ParkHopper $73/$63 - up $4

2 day ParkHopper - $105/$85 - up $7

3 day ParkHopper - $159/$129 - up $30

Southern California CityPass - $172/$129 - no change, scheduled to increase APril 1st, 2005.

Once again, these are the tickets listed on the Main Entry Ticket Window menus, along with the 4 AP's, whose price is not going up. (They just went up October 18th).

Don't forget, there are many deals out there including the two Costco specials, the VONS SoCal "Pay for Disneyland, get DCA for FREE!" ticket, and advance purchase tickets and specials from Disneyland.com, AAA, Walt Disney Travel and other travel agencies.

I was wondering when the prices were going up. I mean, after all, Sea World SD and USH upped their prices and Disney didn't make the first move?

I remember the days the SoCal discount was $23 before summer started...

I don't like this. I would prefer the AP price go up again.

Man, that's expensive. You would think if anything, they would lower prices to attract more people. But maybe this is just for the 50th celebration.

I don't think 53 is that bad, it cost 14 dollars to go to a movie and thats 1.5-2 hours of entertainment. this is ALL DAY FUN, not bad at all.

Somehow, I doubt they're going to have trouble attracting people.

Too true. But DL itself is certainly worth that price (lets ignore DCA - like we always do anyways!) Should it not be priced the same as WDW's parks for a single day? (aka: Higher still!)

 $14 for a movie? I thought $9 was bad where i'm at. I wouldn't pay that much for a movie.

Where do you live? I have never seen $14 for a movie. I live in the bay area and it is $9.50 here.

Just curious!

Well, lets say you do 1-2 attractions an hour. So, 1.5 for mathematical purposes.

You goto the park nice and early and the stay stay until close, (say like 9-9 is normal operation) that's about 18 attractions.

Pay 1/3 the price of the movie per attraction, and you've got the new single day park ticket. So, for about the same price, you can see 6 movies in a marathon for 12 hours or goto DL and have, in my opinion, a much more fullfilling experience.

I have gladly paid $14 to see movies at Arclight in LA. Reserved seats, no commercials, the sound and projection are always great, and there are way fewer idiots in the audience--plus, a live usher tells you to turn off your cell phone, and is willing to throw you out if you don't.

For a run of the mill theater I would'nt pay that much, but Arclight is worth it. At least, to me it is worth it.

You will pay around £35 to get into the best theme parks in britain, thats around $63. The parks here are nothing like Disneyland, hardly any themeing, just rides. The best park here is Alton Towers, which is a good park but nothing compared to Disneyland. Id pay $53 for disneyland any day.

Hey, $53 will get you about 4-6 hours of skiing at most resorts here in Utah!

I agree that going to DL beats the movies any day. But i think you are comparing apples to hand grenades. if you do 2 attractions per hour, that's only probably an average of 5-10 minutes of actual ride time...as compared to 2 solid hours watching a movie. Movies a more bang for your buck?? maybe. but magical like dl....not a chance.

Holy Cow! I thought our $8.75 was bad.

We always do the Matinee, $5.50 for Mr. Pooh and me, $5.00 for Piglet.

Or in the summer, drive in is $4.75 for adults, kids free! And a double feature to boot!

Southern California CityPass - $172/$129 - no change, scheduled to increase APril 1st, 2005.

the VONS SoCal "Pay for Disneyland, get DCA for FREE!" ticket.

Can someone explain these for me? I have no idea what's included in the CityPass (whether or not it would be worth it for our 4-day [including travel] trip)

and what VONS is.

VONS is owned by Safeway, and is where SoCal's need to go to get the curretn special...

FYI, the CityPass price as of April 1st, 2005.... Adults $185, kids $127, and they added one Disneyland Early Entry to the current deal (with tickets starting April 1st).

If we wait until 2 weeks after a movie's release, we get in free at one of our local theaters because of DH's firefighter status :D I haven't paid for a movie in a very long time.

I always have my friends pay for me. I haven't paid for a movie in two years.

Yeah, but does anyone yell out "Hey, Fire -- (cough, choke-on-popcorn) -- man!"?
(Maybe that's why you have to wait two weeks, so it won't be a crowded movie house.)

They aren't allowed to wear their uniform unless they are on duty so other patrons don't know he's a firefighter.

That is way cool that they honor firefighters that way! :)
