Please forgive me if this has already been posted about, but, is there anything special going on at Disneyland Resort for Valentine's Day weekend?

I don't know if there is going to be anything special, but I will be at the park.

Usually some of the restaurants have a special (read: pricey) menu. It is always possible the parks will release a piece of merchandise, usually a limited edition pin. Keep an eye out for a surprise proposal or two (you never know --- it IS Disneyland).

Would the crowds be better or worse, good or bad that weekend or V Day itself?

I remember for Valentines 2003, I didn't have to work the actual day (which was Friday), but the following Saturday DTD was packed. I didn't see the big deal, but of course I was against the whole commercialization of the day. I had to close for Valentines 2004 (it landed on a Saturday), and again DTD was packed, the store was a mess, and I stayed about an hour overtime without paying myself. Was it just because it was a weekend or Valentines weekend?

Well, in 2004, Valentine's Day was the same weekend as Presidents' Day, which is what accounted for how busy it was. I don't remember about 2003. Valentine's Day/weekend in and of itself isn't particularly busy at the resort. Since Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day weekend are a week apart this year, I don't expect February 12/13 to be more crowded than normal.

Feb 14 is a school holiday this year, giving me a three day weekend, so we are pricing a whirlwind trip. I don't expect it to be as crowded as the following 3-day weekend.

ah, to be at DL on Valentine's Day and riding Peter Pan continuously, stealing kisses as we fly over London...
