has anyone else heard that there is gonna be a movie based on pirates? And that the ride is gonna be shut down in early 2002 for treasuer planet??? i heard something about a pirates movie months ago, but have not heard anything else until a few days back. here's the article: http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20011207/en/variety-fronted_878.html

This is probably another rumor . . . where did you hear that? I doubt Disneyland would close one of its most popular rides . . . and one of Walt's favorites. That would be just . . . ugh . . . I can't even imagine! :mad:

I don't think they would dare do such a thing.

Besides, doesn't Treasure Planet take place in space ?
A ride based on the movie would fit in Tomorrowland, not New Orleans Square.

seriously now thye woudl never close pirates permanently, its the most beloved attraction of all time, next 2 small world of course;)
