Disney brought out the lead float from the Parade of Dreams today, as part of the filming for the Wonderful World of Disney Christmas special. Here are two photos:

Is it going to be for the time before the 50th parade or is it the new parade?

Not that I'm complaining at all, but doesn't it seem a little remeniscent of a Rose Bowl Parade Float? All those flowers! It's really very pretty.

I don't think tehy will all have this many flowers. This is a depiction of a specific place in the park, the entrance/train station, hence the MM flower mural.

they say some of the floats are now arriving at DL for the 50th NEW parade. Some of the floats are being built somewhere in a Hollywood studio..this parade should be awesome

I was there for the filming...me and a friend. We couldn't get past the little rope though so we were just kind of to the side...probably not on camera..It was still really cool to see all the filming stuff....very fun!

Wont they have to replace the flowers every couple of days? That seems like something Eisner would be against; too much money. :fez:

Nah. They're going to have characters selling them along the way.

And best of all...since they are real...they'll be dead in a few days and Guests will have to come back to buy more!

"Own A Piece Of A Disney Parade!™"TOTALLY OFF TOPIC:

When I was working as the donations chair for the Cal Poly Tournament of Roses committee, that was one of my more inspired fundraisers. We charged folks $1 to write their name and hometown on the vials we used for fresh flowers on the float. (We used thousands of these things) Our sales pitch: "You can ride in the Tournament of Roses parade!"

People would always ask if they could have the vial back after the parade. And we'd tell them, "if you can find it, you can have it."

Anyway - I think the plants on the float were silk, but I couldn't get close enough to tell for certain.
