hey everyone, I have a question for those of you that have visited the park recently. Are there any new security measure being taken at the entrance? Metal detectors, searches? All i know is that the castle walk through is closed......

There is a cursroy bag search. That's all. And when I say cursory, I mean cursory. Cadaverous Pallor carries a bag that has 3 pockets. They check one, sometimes (RARELY) 2, and all they do is glance in with a flash light. Don't even look under anything.

It's not very invasive, but it does bottleneck the entrance queues a bit when the crowds build up.

And if you slip the person 20 bucks they can give you a strip search.:D

Yeah if you want to sneak anything in you can usually get by with a lesser search if you go to an older seacher, usually the younger ones are very thurough. Wait I probably shouldn't have said that.

Wait, I think I got overcharged. Last time I was there they charged me $35 for the strip search. I did consider the $99 SSAP (Strip Search Annual Pass) However I did not think it was worth the $199 for the Premium SSAP which include full body cavity search.

LOL:p

A little known fact is the SoCal discount on strp searches. For a limited time, if you pay the full price for a strip search, your spouse or significant other gets a strip search for half price, as long as you can prove you live in ZIPs 90000-93599 :)

And remember nothing says I love you like a strip search for that special someone.:D Or if you are really daring you can put a card on your person for the seacher to find (lets just hope gloves arent involved to retrive it).:D

Or even a ring, if you're looking for the special time and place to pop the question :)

Now for the real big question, If I pay for the strip search at one park and have the 49 park hopper, will I get the strip search at the other park also, or do I have to pay extra for another strip search.

The only drawback to the Disney Club discount on the Strip search, is that if you use the discount, then the search is performed by goofy, and he can be a little clumsy around those special places.

With DC you need to slip them an extra tip to get whoever you want.

Other than the bag search mentioned by GD, you won't notice anything different. You see more security officers (and occassionally police) in the area but nothing the affects the guests. I think the security people are doing some more stuff behind the scenes but the bag search is pretty much the only thing the guest will notice.

Just the other day, my gf and I was in fantasyland and notice that a crew of 3 employees (don't know of what department) looking through all the bushes and shrub with a flashlight. I told my gf that they could be looking for a "suspicious package" or something along those lines. She said that maybe they were only looking for trash. I told her that they couldn't, since they were not wearing the white custodian uniforms.

Then again, it was probaly nothing...

I hear they also have an AARP discount for the seaches.
