Just curious, but where in the world do people travel to where they don't have internet access? I went on a trip to Florida last year and was able to use the computers for free at a local library (I checked my e-mail, and checked some of these boards). Later on that same year, I went on a trip to the Middle East (Israel mostly, with side trips to Jordan and Egypt), and had no trouble finding internet cafes, including ones in Dahab, Egypt (where you have to be careful driving the rental car, to avoid hitting the goats in the streets). I was also able to assist my mother in checking her e-mail (we have different servers). Just wondering how remote the location is where you can't get on-line. Or maybe you just choose not to, which is understandable if your trying to "get away from it all".
