OK, we just saw the news on the WDW price increase to over $60 (including tax) for a Single Day, Single Park ticket in 2005...

So what effect will this have in Anaheim?

Well, in January, the rumor is that the Single Day, Single Park tickets will go up to between $53 to $55 at the DLR (which matches up with the multi-day prices already released...), based on this announcement, I wouldn't be surprised to see the $55 figure ($5.25 increase, pretty much the same as Florida)...

Currently a Single Day Single Park ticket is $49.75, and a Two Day Park Hopper is $98 (or $99, depending on where you look for the price), basically double the Single Day price...

In 2005, the Two Day Parkhopper will be $105, so half of that is about $53 (rounded up)...

Also, the DLR is testing the Single Day ParkHopper for the price of a Single Park ticket. And rumors have been around regarding the use of that pricing as a SoCal special for the period of January thru April 2005 (just like the new Florida Resident offer...).. but I wonder if they will offer the 10% discount for a Single Park ticket, or decide not to keep folks going to DCA....

I remember chatting with a CM on my first visit to DCA in March 2001, waiting in line to get into the park to watch BBMak film their summer special. I think at the time a single-day ticket was either $41 or $43. We were talking about the 50th celebration and she was saying how tickets would be at least $50 by 2005. My friends and I laughed and thought that was a ridiculous notion. Of course, at the time I wasn't following the theme parks as closely as I am now. How naive!

Being a passholder and formerly working there, I feel I can no longer objectively gauge the worth of a one-day pass. I would always be inclined to say it's worth it at other parks but not necessarily DLR, but have no solid reasoning for it.

I remember when tickets were around $30 and it cost $200 for six of us to get into DLR. I balked at the price then.

Hey the ticket prices aren't that bad compared to other forms of entertainment. For example, mammoth mountain charges $63 to ski, maybe $25 extra for the rentals. Thats a ton more than disneyland will charge in this decade. That is to ski for only 8:30am-4pm only, wheras at disneyland you are getting twice the time (8am-11pm for example) for much less money, and less of a chance of breaking a bone. BTW the season pass to the mammoth ski resort costs $1200, however they do have one that if you buy almost 7 months in advance (ie march the year before the opening in oct/nov) for 35% the cost with no restrictions. Movies these days cost $11, and thats for 2 hours. I'd much rather have 8 times longer an exciting day for only 5 times as much money.

I don't think it should change too much. There needs to be more separation between AP and single-day prices.
Since the multi-day passes are increasing (?), then the single-day passes will probably go up proportionately.
