Hi all,

Now that trip planning for the summer of '05 has officially started, I'm looking for a place to stay in Anaheim. I'm looking for the following:

- A really cheap place to stay. No luxury needed at all, the less costly the better.
- preferably at walking distance, or otherwise with a shuttle to, Disneyland.

Does anyonr have any tips they'd like to share?

Thanks,
Tonny

There have been other threads lately, but I'll throw in my 2 cents. Stayed at the Super 8 on Katella last week. About $45 a night, pool, hot tub, morning coffee & donuts, LA times at your doorstep. Rooms are nice, no fridge. BUT it is about a mile from the main gates. Some of the other hotels mentioned are:
HoJo's, Annabella, Del Sol Inn.

Check out the reviews of hotels on Harbor within walking distance on the MousePlanet Hotel Review Page (http://www.mouseplanet.com/cgi/reviews/do/find.cgi?product-category=Disneyland%20Resort%20%2F%20Hotels%20%2F% 20Walking%20distance%20hotels%20east%20of%20the%20 park%2C%20near%20the%20main%20gate).

I recently stayed at the Park Inn and Suites. Very clean and comfortable room. Spacious with 1 king bed and a couch seating area. I got a rate of approx. $70/night on Expedia. Close to gate, short walk.

You should be able to get a room at HoJo's for under $60/night.

Download Travelaxe (it's safe! I'll vouch for it). You can find extremely cheap rates through them.

www.travelaxe.com (http://www.travelaxe.com)

Then just plug in your dates and specifics (also if you have AAA, etc.) and wait for a few minutes. It searches the major travel sites for you and can find you some amazing deals.

I've booked through www.hotelclub.com (http://www.hotelclub.com) and www.hotelkingdom.com (http://www.hotelkingdom.com) through Travelaxe.

Park Vue Inn can be pretty cheap and it's right across the street, literally.

I once stayed at Desert Inn, also right across the street for $44/night. It was adequate....they accidentally put us in a huge room (I'd booked just a King bed) and it was newly refurbished and extremely clean.

I've stayed at HoJo for $45/night through the hotel with my Entertainment card.

I've seen the Ramada (the newly refurbished one that has a shuttle) for under $40 on several sites....the earlier you book, the better.

I've read some okay reviews of the Days Inn on Harbor....cheap and close.

I also recommend TravelAxe.com, a great place to start and see what the going rate is on the actual days of your visit...

I would also checkout Hotwire.com, he drawback is that you might be a bit of a distance away from the park, so if you don't have a car, you might not want to try that option, but you can find some great deals on the site.....
