I was lookin at Disneyland jobs earlier today and was wondering what exactly the "Show Support" job is all about. Does anyone know? Is anyone working in this position right now? Is it backstage crew for the stage shows or what? And does anyone know how to get a job as a crew member for the stage shows at the DR?

Any info would be awesome!

Thanks

"Parades and Show Support" is the department which houses the parade float drivers, as well as all support services for characters. "Parades" is self-explanatory, "Show Support" basically entails shuttling characters to/from the Entertainment building, to Costuming, and to their break areas, and back again at the end of their shifts. It also involves other duties such as refilling water coolers, getting stuff for characters, etc.

Stage crew for the various shows mainly falls under Technical/Production Services, though Show Support does have various limited roles in crewing, particularly in large shows such as Fantasmic!

Getting a Tech Services job is quite difficult, they don't hire unexperienced people. Get a technical theatre education at a school of some sort. OCC has a great technical theatre program, Fullerton College also has a great theatre program, though it is more focused toward acting, it still offers great tech opportunities.

Oh yeah, Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine also have excellent theatre departments, for both acting and teching.
