I need your help! We tried to book rooms at DLH and the prices are outragous (Sept. 23). So now we must try to book else where. We haven't stayed outside the resort in a long time. What are all your suggestions? I want something in close walking distance and we want something beyond the basic "just a place to sleep". Nothing fancy but since the park closes so early, we want some place nicer to go "home" to.

I have never stayed at any of the hotels but I hear that HoJo's is awesome. It's about a 7 minute walk to the park. The rooms are spacious and the grounds are beautiful. This is where we would stay if we weren't going to stay at the DLH. Darkbeer gave me the sales director's info. You can e-mail him at William.Simpson@hojoanaheim.com

There are also tons of reviews here on MousePlanet.

Have a great trip!

I myself am trying to search for the hotel locations. I asked about 6 months ago and someone posted 2 links to the hotel locations on a map. Those were great, I tried to save the pics but my hard drive has since been wiped. If someone could please post the links to the hotel maps, I would be ever so grateful!

Thank you kindly

I seem to remember either the Park Inn or the Anabella being on Katella close to Disneyland Dr. I think it was the Anabella. It looked really nice from the outside and didn't look like it would be a bad walk to the parks either. I just remember passing it on our way to the Paradise Pier.

We stayed at the Park Inn. It was right across the street easy walking distance from DL. The rooms were nice and clean. Our girls loved the pool being on the fourth floor and watching the fireworks in the pool.

We stayed at the Annabella in May. It's a nice hotel, and we got really good service, though the front desk is a little slow. The walk to the park is very easy, the walk back (after a long day at Disneyland) is much harder. It's a great value, though. We got a room, with a double bed, and a daybed in another attached room for $69 a night. Room could have been a little cleaner though.

I bumped into Willie tonight at the Cove Bar:D

So please feel free to send him some e-mail and check out what he can do for you..

But to be fair... I would also use

www.travelaxe.com (http://www.travelaxe.com)

And check out the rates of many of the other hotels in the area.....

We stayed at HoJo in May and are all booked and ready, thanks to Willie and Darkbeer, in the perfect room, for our trip in November. It took us 10 mins, with a stroller, to walk to the park. The rooms are clean and big and the staff is VERY friendly.

There are tons of hotels within a couple blocks of disneyland. Perhaps this map will help: http://www.a2z-anaheim-hotels.com/maps.htm

I suggest you check out the Shearaton Anaheim, we were there last month and it was lovely. There is a free Disneyland shuttle every half hour as well, there are a few revies of it here on Mouseplanet...

My reviews (with photos) of the Sheraton Anaheim can be found in Posts #11 and #14 in this thread on the hotel:

http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=27928

Rates as low as $69 on some dates. That's pretty good for a full service Sheraton of this level.

If you happen to be a Gold or Platinum member of the Starwood Preferred Guest program, the Sheraton Anaheim has a special in the months of September and October this year. Advance upgrade, free continental breakfast in the Garden Bistro restaurant, and Triple Starpoints! :)

May be overkill but this gives you an aerial view of DLR and the surrounding hotels:

Got a link to that deal? Guy on the phone didn't have it in his system, so I'd like to ask about it when I get there. TIA!

Tropicana Inn & Suites are right across the street from DL. You cross the street and you are right there at DL. If you go to www.getawaytoday.com you can book a package that gives you a room and 2 adult passes for a great price.

Disneyland website has a map of the hotels near and around DL

Not surprised Reservations hasn't heard of it as it's not linked to any particular rate. And it's their own local promotion, so Starwood Central Res wouldn't know about it either.

It's just something they do when you check-in on any rate in Sept or Oct if you're a Gold or Platinum member.

It was announced just last week in an email advisory from the hotel. It may have gone out only to past guests but the email did say "all" Gold or Platinums. I called the hotel and they confirm it's not targeted. If you're a Gold or Platinum, you should get it offered at check-in.

Here's the text of my Platinum email (Gold's got the same).

The link just takes you to Sheraton's web site for the Anaheim property:

http://www.sheraton.com/anaheim

...and contains no special booking code or anything. Just poke around for the lowest rate and book it.

My experience with these things are that you don't usually get your upgrade on-the-spot. They usually confirm the upgrade a week or even as late as a day or two before arrival subject to what's available. Though you could call the hotel directly after you've booked your room to see if they could do it now, I suppose.

If you have any questions, I'd suggest calling the hotel directly during normal Mon-Fri business hours and ask to speak to someone in their Marketing Department. They're likely the folks behind this.

Thanks for the details Opus1guy. Turns out I'm still 9 stays away from Gold, so I won't see much offered to me, I imagine.

Great map! Okay here's a dumb question for you...Where is DTD on the map? I can't figure it out.

Harbor Blvd runs along the bottom of the map. If you follow the line that is marking the Park Vue Motel, that is the cross walk. As you go further in you get to a pinkish area, that is the brick between the entrances. Beyond that is DTD.

I second the Hojo suggestion! I just got back from there and loved it.

Here is a fantastic reference: Trip Advisor.com (http://www.tripadvisor.com/)

I stayed at the Anabella last time I was at Disneyland and I must sayI was pretty impressed. The room was cleanand the grounds were rather nice and best of all it was a good price from memory. One thing I would say is that even though it was a nice room like all my trips to Disneyland and for that matter other touristy trips I don't normally spend a lot of time in the room so as long as it is clean and tidy and good service I'm normally a happy camper.

Their Website (http://www.anabellahotel.com/anabella.asp) gives you a good idea of the site.
