We will be staying at the Grand Californian December 18-22. It will be our first time at DLR during the holidays. Is there something we just should not miss? Or something you love to do that is only around during the holidays? I know the fireworks and the parades change and HM and IASW. Is it a better time to take a tour? Anything else? It's all adults on this trip so we are looking forward to seeing things we don't see with the kiddos along. Thanks for the help.

I would for sure do the Holiday tour (assuming it will be offered this year). It's been discussed on several previous threads, its fun and informative and ends with great seating for the parade. The fireworks, the special holiday snacks. Hop over to DCA and get your picture taken with surfing santa.

It's good you are going later in December. We are going to be there the week of the 6th and the park closes early on both monday and tuesday nights. Usually we get regular hours that week for the first part of the week. Not this year.

Are the hours available already? We're there later that week (9 - 14 Dec) and I'd be interested to know what the hours will be then.

Here's (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=31443&highlight=christmas) a thread about Christmas at the DLR, here's another (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=30853&highlight=christmas), and one more (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=30752&highlight=christmas). That should give you a good start. :) Post again if any of your questions were unanswered!

EDIT: Carlie, the park hours are listed for the dates you are coming out. Go to the DL website and type in your dates. (http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dlr/calendar/index?selectedDate=12/9/2004&Stay=1&DLP=DLP&DCA=DCA&DTD=DTD&submitted=true)

Educated Guess: Probably closing early on that Monday and Tuesday in early December for the Disney CM Christmas Party. Some of the in-park CM's get to work one night and party the other, some get both nights off and get to go Party one night, and the Backstage and off-site folks get to go on one of the nights.

It is for a cast members christmas party. My husband's uncle is a CM and he confirmed that is why the early closing. It's okay by us, gives us a chance to have an evening in DTD.

Thanks for all the great ideas. The Holiday Tour sounds fun. Does anyone know where you call to sign up. I did not find it searching the DL website.
