Does anyone know if there is a webcam that shows anything of DL. I have done a few google searches and have not found anything. With all the real estate surrounding the park, you would think someone would have something going on... :~D

Would be great to be able to peek in on the happiest place on earth ever now and then!

There are no Disney webcams that show the Disneyland Resort. The closest you'll get is local ABC affiliate that sometimes shows shots of the parks during the weather segments.

After 9-11 Disney decided it was wise to discontinue live cams. There used to be cams available from WDW (different parks and locations) and DLR.

I don't think that had anything to do with 9/11. The WDW webcams were gone long before then and DL never had any...

Definately a bummer. Is there no Mouse Planet Member living within visual site of DL that can help us long distance fans out! I would be willing to chip in on website host costs, that would be cool

Here is a shot of SM Pier, another playground of my youth...

I don't recall a DLR webcam either. I think it would be cool to have one though. If you were going to get just ONE in Disneyland, what would you want it pointing at??

My choice would be from the hub towards Sleeping Beauty's castle - the classic TV image and I could always log on to see images of the fireworks behind the castle!

The WDW cams were up until Oct 2001. There was a DLR cam which is the same one now used by KABC-TV in Los Angeles (located on the Pirates security post it can pan to the Rivers of America and Matterhorn or swing around and see the DCA Paradise Pier area. They were removed from public access for security reasons. Think about it- terrorists video taped the parks for planning purposes. They could use the live cams to extract the best time to do something and even watch the results. Way too much reality.

Knowing the powers that be, I dought that a webcam inside DL would happen. If it did, how about a shot from the top of the Matterhorn. Back in the days of the cable cars, the view from that area was great! Looking towards Main Street, or Tomorrow Land. If we were to be truely blessed, it would pan across the park! :D

I would just settle for a shot from a hotel across the street from the main gate. A path that we have taken numerous times. Just seeing folks coming and going would be a treat!

If you look here (http://home.disney.com/DisneyWorld/cgi-bin/allCameras.cgi), you'll see that the final webcam images are from 5/25/01.

Yep, those old terrorists would need to sit around all day watching a webcam to figure out when Disneyland is crowded. They couldn't figure out it's pretty busy around our nation's holidays--perhaps the 4th of July. And without a webcam there'd be no way to see their results--nobody taking any home video around the park that the networks would buy for hundreds of thousands of dollars and play endlessly.

I forget which image of 9/11 is from a webcam?

It would be too much torture for me to see others at Disneyland having fun and me not being there.
