Hi-
My son really loves trains of all kinds and wants to ride the Disneyland Monorail. A friend told me they charge to take a "ride". Do they charge?

It's free with paid admission, but you have to have a ticket to tide it.

Your friend was teasing. Upon paying for park admission, there is no charge for any ride or attraction. You only need to pay for food, merchandise, and arcades.

Make sure after riding the Monorail, you take your son on the Disneyland Railroad! Walt loved trains as well. Even had one in his own backyard.

I know at least one of the disneyparks overseas charges for their monorail but ours is still free with a park ticket :)
