Hey I've got a couple questions about the current socal discounts (2 days for $49)...
Do the tickets allow park hopping?
Also, does the resort check ID when you enter? Reason being, I have friends visiting out of state for their first time and I was wondering if it's possible for me to buy them socal tickets (since they're cheaper)

I suspect there's a limit as to the number of tickets a so.cal. resident can purchase.
Check The Official DisneylandŽ website (http://www.disneyland.com) for more information

NO park hopping!!!
Once you buy the tickets (and you MUST use the first day of the ticket THAT day), they do not check the "other" visitors. So, you have an AP plus three guests, just go up to the window, ask for three "SoCal" tickets, they check your ID there, then the four of you can go to the park of your choice (unless you want to use "both" days to go to both parks on the same day.)

As far as I'm concerned, the ticket prices are the true problem here. Here's how I'd restructure them:
1 day 1 park tickets:
DL $43 adult, $33 child, discounted $10 off-season for locals, military, AAA, Disney Club
DCA $38 adult, $28 child, discounted $10 as above
also discounted $20 for DL-only passholders
1-2 day 2 park non-hopper tickets:
$58 adult, $48 child, discounted $10 as above
14-day time limit, no re-entry to first park after second admission is used
Park hoppers:
Unlimited park-hopping, no time limits (as in WDW)
1 day $65 adult, $55 child, discounted $5 as above except locals
2 day $75 adult, $65 child, discounted $10 as above
3 day $100 adult, $85 child, discounted $15 as above
4 day $115 adult, $90 child, no discounts, "park-hopper plus" feature(s)
5 day $125 adult, $100 child, no discounts, "park-hopper plus" feature(s)
Ultimate Park Hopper:
Available only as part of vacation packages, includes park-hopper plus feature(s), and is valid for entire stay.

How about a single day add-on of $35 for "instant Fastpass"
privaleges?
Or perhaps others would like to comment on what they think is a fair price to pay for one day without any waiting?
Seems like only a matter of time before DLR and WDW go way of Universal IOA and USF .......

But see, that's totally unfair to those who can't afford to shell out for an "instant" fastpass. I feel that the current system is beautifully executed and other parks should adopt a disney style system, instead of trying to profit off of the front of the line passes...
