View Full Version : Ride down yesterday, probably my fault

I just had a cloud of badluck following me yesterday. First we went to Tower of Terror but while in line, it shut down. We were told that there was a problem in one of the shafts earlier and they decided to check the others.

So we headed back to DL and used our Autopia fastpasses. As we were rounding the last turn, I noticed the cars were lined up pretty far back. Sure enough, they were shutting down the ride. There was a swarm of bees near the exit. They walked us off the ride through the entrance.

Next we head to Indiana Jones to use fastpasses. We also grabbed single rider passes on the way in. After we got off the ride and headed toward the single rider queue, the lights went bright. On past visits I had told my son that when the lights go steady and bright, that means the ride went down. Sure enough, the cast member in the queue confirmed that it had gone down.

Of all my trips to DL, I've never had a ride or queue shut down while I was right there. Then all of the sudden we experienced 3. Weird.

My husband has the same luck - we are almost 100% guaranteed to have something break down when he's there. I think he is the only person in history to cause the Disney Gallery to go 101.

Tower went down about 10:30. Not sure when it went back up, but there was a 75 minute line by the time we got back around 2pm. Luckily we had gotten fastpasses before getting in line the first time. We were going to wait the 20 minutes, then go right back on with the fastpass. When they closed the ride they also closed the fastpasses, many people were upset about that.

The other rides broke down as we were leaving, so no harm done. We rode at least once.

Maybe his magnetic personality wreaks havoc on the mechanics of the rides? :D

Last weekend, I was three cars away from being stuck here for quite a while.

That sounds like how things use to be for me. In fact I can't remember a trip where I didn't have to walk off the People Mover, until of course, they closed it. LOL

I broke down on that ride and it was horrible. It kinda ruined the magic for me on that ride.

Don't know what time it went down, but it was back up starting at about noon.
