Does the GCH or the DLH have a specific pool for toddlers? ya know, a little wading pool. This will be the deciding factor as to which will be my first on site property to stay at. Thanks

The DLH has one. It starts out in 2 feet deep water. Shoulder high for my 2.5yo then goes deeper little by little. I think the main neverland pool is 4 ft except in the slide area which is a little deeper. Its not a pool where you can leave your kids, wander off and let them swim by themselves unless they know how to swim.

Not sure if GCH has a kiddie pool or not. I think i read they do.

Yes, GCH has a special toddler pool, 1 1/2 feet deep.

Do the pools at the disney hotels have pool attendants/life guards?

The GCH was my first, and it is now my only! You will have a marvelous time!

Make sure you manage at least one meal by the pool. Having the pool boys bring you frosty drinks on a hot afternoon is just decadent. The chicken salad sandwiches from White Water snacks are to die for, too.

One thing we did one hot afternoon was to wear our suits under our clothes into DCA and get a FP for GRR. Then, we hung by the GCH pool until our FP time, threw our clothes on over our suits, went down GRR, got another fastpass, went back to the pool, ordered a drink, waited until FP time. . .

You can get a hidden Mickey list from the guest services counter and go for a hidden Mickey hunt in the lobby. Plan to spend some quiet time in the evening by the fire with a drink and a good book, too.

I think the ambience at the GCH is just amazing. I haven't stayed there, but last year I checked out the lobby (walking through from DCA) and was amazed. It is gorgeous. I knew that next time I visited DL I really wanted to stay there myself. That said, I haven't been to WDW, but the resort hotels there look incredible...the theming looks even better.

just this past feb. after going on GRR. We walked over to GCH and bought a couple of beers in the lounge-ate those cheese cracker thingies (yuck)-Then took our beer and sat by the fire to warm up while our DD slept in her stroller. AWESOME!! Hubby then declares- we MUST stay here next year. We were staying at the best western park place inn. Don't get me wrong I really do enjoy that hotel too. But to stay on Property-my dream. can't wait. and I am waiting for a quote right now from a travel agent.

GeminiAngel are you an AAA member? If so, have them look at a package price for you at the GCH. It'll save you a couple of hundred dollars (plus you'll get the multi fast-pass option, which means you can get more than 1 fast pass at a time). If you're not an AAA member, the DL savings alone is definitely worth the cost of the membership. :)

I'm a member and just booked my package through AAA. I saved $200 over the Disney Resort price. This time, I'm staying at the PPH. But I stayed at the GCH last August and last Christmas, using AAA to book my trips both times. In fact, even the DL Reservation specialist recommended that I use AAA for my travel package!! Nice plug.

I'd love to be staying at the GCH again this time. But, with a trip to Maui in October, I'm strying to pinch pennies.

You'll just love statying at the GCH...enjoy :)

Getawaytoday.org is way cheaper than AAA. We'll be staying at GCH for our second time in November, at that time of year, you get the 4th night free, so it's even better. Getawaytoday.org is per room (not per person) and includes tax.

You don't need to have a car to get the AAA Membership card. It's good for discounts on hotels, restaurants, amusement parks, FTD florists, Lenscrafters, plus toomany more to mention. Even some of the shopping outlets give you extra discounts with the card. Plus you get free maps, tourbooks and discounts on travel packages. You can also use the card for towing if you're a passenger in a friends' car and it breaks down or gets a flat.

Gee, you'd think I work for AAA or something ( :) I do !! ) But seriously, it's a great thing to have. I've had my card since I was 16 and got one for my daughter when she turned 16, as well.

I think if you were to buy AAA, and went thru them to get GCH rooms, it would more than pay for itself just for that... not to mention all the other discounts you get for being a member. You really should look into it and see if you could save some money. I think if you book your trip thru AAA, you will get special fast pass tickets plus a big discount at the GCH.
