What are they going to be doing to the castle this summer? Are they just repainting it or are they doing more to it? I hope instead of just having normal scafoldings and brown tarps to cover it they do something that wont be such an eyesore. It would be really neat if instead they made it look like it was in a giant present box with wrapping paper designs all over it.

they're not decorating that early are they? I thought they were doing that on the 5th of may or something next year.

Does anybody know whether they are still planning on fixing the drawbridge so that it can be lowered and raised every day of the 18-month-long 50th Anniversary year?

As far as ugly scaffolding goes, I was hoping Disneyland might do something similar to what was done in Italy a few years back when they were seriously repairing most of their historic sites and monuments: They put remarkable scrims over the scaffolding that created photographic images of the site the scaffolds were covering. From a little bit of distance, for example, you could not tell that you were looking at an image of the Coliseum rather than the real thing.

It really appeased the tourists, and I think it would be a great idea for Disneyland.

I love your suggestion of the castle being wrapped in a scaffolding that looks like a present during the construction, however i think it would be more appropriate for any rehab right before the 50th kicks off. So for example if it went down march 2005-may 05 2005, it would be perfect.

I'm hoping they'll opt for something like this instead of unsightly scaffolding:
