HalloweenTime is a big enough event that I thought I'd start a separate thread for it.

The lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel has a HalloweenTime sculpture again this year. Here are pics from last weekend, when they first started putting it up. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1168594142189871109) A lot more work has been done since last week. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170406786060431361) They're expected to finish by Tuesday.

They have Halloween treats available for purchase in the lobby area as well. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1168595034683449344) The cookie shots are really good.

And there's a meet and greet for the amazing artists who made the sculpture. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170407823945207808)

I also love the Halloween decor in the lobby. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1168595345728770048)

Not really HalloweenTime related per se, but rather regarding the Haunted Mansion's 50th, there are some nice photo ops at the Disneyland Hotel. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1168213887377911809)

Speaking of the Haunted Mansion, we attended the new Haunted Mansion themed classic afternoon tea at the Disneyland Hotel yesterday and had a great time. Pics are here (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170816765775028224), here (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170817495684526081) and here (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170848071741321217). The Haunted Mansion tea runs through the first week of November.

We got to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday yesterday, and I loved the new gingerbread house. And I found the monkey bride on our second ride. There also seem to be some new decorations / gift wrappings in the attic. I'll need to take a better look next time because I was so pre-occupied with finding the monkey bride.

We got to see the Halloween Screams fireworks last night and really enjoyed it. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170840707277496320)

On a different note, I'm not a fan of the new "pumpkins" on display in Downtown Disney. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1170846077005651968)

We didn't get a chance to try any of the HalloweenTime treats - and there are a lot of them! I'm glad that the bacon cheddar ale soup is back at Pacific Wharf, and the third bread pudding flavor there has been released - maple bacon bread pudding.

We went last Friday and didn't try any of the food offerings. Will next time for sure since we should have more of a chance ourselves. BTW, agree about those pumpkins in DTD. I don't mind different varieties of pumpkins but they look a little to bright for fall. At least in the picture they do.

BTW, I actually got to the Alice tea in August. Was able to get my MIL and daughter to go. MIL loves Alice in Wonderland. We enjoyed it. They had the Haunted Mansion decor when we went as well. Going to try to plan to do the Christmas one and decided to pass on the Halloween one. Glad I did after seeing the food flavors. They do a great job though with how everything looks though!

The Christmas tea is supposedly themed to Frozen.

If that is true then I will be making sure to plan that into things.

I always look forward to your Halloween pictures and reports! Every year we go ON Halloween(to the party also) and every year I tell myself that I am going to schedule it in Sept/Early Oct to be able to get some Halloween merchandise but then I never do. LOL By the time we get there pretty much everything is picked over and no special things left. Maybe next year. LOL This year we are taking the whole family which is my husband, myself, our 30yr old son, his 25yr old GF and our 21yr old son and staying at our Home away from Home GC. Our oldest son has not been since 2008 so he has a lot to catch up on(plus neither he or Hanna have ever stayed at the GC so we got them their own room for 2 of the 4 nights we are there as a surprise for them. They don't know yet... LOL)

That will be fun with them along. Especially when the oldest hasn't been for so long. It will be fun seeing him check out all the things he hasn't seen since the last time. What a nice surprise for them as well!

Thanks! We're all looking forward to it and I am sure when they realize they have their own room it will be even better. LOL I love my family but 5 adults in one room for 5d/4n plus needing to get ready and into costumes is just too much togetherness for me to take. LOL Now for me to just get my Mad Madam Mim costume sewn! I've been putting it off during the house restoration(April to September restoring my 90yr old house) because it's too difficult to focus on sewing with construction going on and now I need to get my butt moving! LOL

If it makes any difference - I went to the park yesterday for a few hours in the late afternoon and it was quite crowded. Not huge - but most major attractions were 60 minutes wait and the many walkways were slow to pass. The Coco show was 6 or 7 deep all the way around. So it was a solid day but not jam packed (well, unless you count the AP line for the button - 90 minutes... )

Further to this, the elevators at the Disneyland Hotel have some hitchhiking ghosts on the doors and inside the elevators too. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1173368739779231746)

The Oogie Boogie Halloweentime sculpture in the lobby of the Grand Californian is finished. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1173363994117234689)

Some pics from Haunted Mansion Holiday but not of the gingerbread house so as not to spoil it - here, (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1173442680837353472) hatbox ghost (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1173442948895322112), and pumpkin angel trumpeter (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1173488221549989890).

I'm not a fan of the fake weird colored pumpkins in Downtown Disney, so I was happy to see actual pumpkins as decorations. I also love the "candy corn" hanging floral and the hidden Mickey hanging florals (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1173626048421998603).

While we were at the Disneyland Hotel for tea yesterday, a friend mentioned another Haunted Mansion photo op backdrop that I hadn't seen, so I went to take a look. Pretty awesome. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1175579162125512705)

I had the cheddar bacon ale soup at Pacific Wharf for dinner yesterday, and it was just as good as it always is. Glad to have it back on the menu but I don't see why it can't be there all the time!

Got a chance to try the maple bacon bread pudding (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/1175613262580215808) at Pacific Wharf, the third in a series of seasonal bread pudding flavors they've had there in the past several months. It was pretty yummy, I think my favorite of the three, though, is still the first one, the lemon blueberry bread pudding.

I really loved the maple bacon flavor. I missed the lemon blueberry and that's too bad. One of my favorite flavor combinations.

I am so with you on the fake weird colored pumpkins. Not feeling that at all. I'm all for colorful things but I like my Halloween pumpkings, not something pulled out of the Joann's Half Off Halloween decorations bin. LOL

Have you not had that before? It's been there for the past couple of years during various events - sometimes during Halloweentime and sometimes during the Festival of Holidays, I think, and we first had it during Food and Wine Festival some number of years ago, when it came in the tiny little bread roll bowl. I think one time, they did it without the bacon, but the cheddar ale has been consistent.

Many of my friends and I were also not thrilled with the Mickey and Minnie decorations from early this year (mostly on Main Street), made worse when they did an overlay of hearts for Valentine's. To me, it looked like they went to Party City and got some decorations. Don't get me wrong, I love Party City, but that's for our parties, not what I would expect to see at Disneyland.

Yeah, I kind of grinned when I saw that article. I didn't comment so as not to ruin anyone else's fun. Many people were commenting on how cool it was, and I do have a few friends who like it. It's just not appealing to me.

Mr. Tea first tried it at F&W a while back and didn't really care for it, so it has been low on the list of things to do again. I'm kicking it up to the to of the list this year because I still haven't gotten to try it! Pretty sure the maple bacon bread pudding will be enough to sway things in my favor on this one.

Are Fast Passes active during the Halloween parties? My kiddo is finally over 40" and i want to get her on RSR during the party if possible (and hopefully without waiting an hour, haha).

No they aren't but generally you don't need them anyway during the parties. Hope she likes RSR.

Agree that FPs aren't needed during the party. During the early entry hours, the party ticket has MP. Wait times during the party for rides have been reported as averaging around 10-15 minutes for all rides, especially later into the party. Some people said that RSR was a walk on during WOC. Have fun at the party!

Sweet! Thanks tea4two and Berry Princess :-) Right now she's saying she also wants to go on Guardians... we'll see what she thinks when she's staring up at that elevator...

Just making sure you know - the ride during the day is the regular Guardians version. At night, after 5pm or 6pm, I forget which, it's the "after dark" version of the ride, which is a bit scarier. It also means someone going to the party could experience both versions of the ride if they arrive early enough.

Someone posted that at last Thursday's party (10/3), the longest wait for RSR was about 35 minutes around 9:35 pm. MP did work during the early entry hours and, surprisingly, wasn't needed for GOTG. Lines for GOTG during the party have been consistently good. Which party will you be attending?

Thank you for reminding me! I haven't been on that version, so I'll try to get her over there earlier (before the party starts) to see if she wants to do it or not. I'm thinking she's going to look up at the thing and be like "NOPE" but sometimes she's just a determined little being :-)

tea4two: We're going on October 24 :-)

We're going Oct. 27th -- we'll have to report back and compare notes. :)
