I can't believe nobody else here mentioned this...

12 years ago today, Fantasmic debuted. The greatest live show ever developed for theme park entertainment, and it STILL hasn't been topped.

Thanks for reminding me how many years it has been since I truly enjoyed New Orleans Square on a summer's night. :(

Wow it was that long ago lol. What an amazing show that my mom helped develop. She helped design the pumps for the water screens. :)
Although they were replaced when the nozzles were replaced when they drained the river. Did you know that each of those nozzles that spray the water screen cost 25,000 dollars. Plus they had to replace the pumps because they require a different pressure.

Technifex of Valencia did the fountains

The fountains yes but the pumps, RBF Consulting.

water resources

When the nozzles are replaced, the pumps have to be replaced too.

Somewhere around here, I've got some papers with the RBF logo on them.
I can very vividly remember the installation, (because of some family involvement at the construction end), and everybody was so excited about the project, but nobody could really describe what it would really be like.

Oh, and DisneyFreak, PLEASE give your mom thanks for being part of a truly magical show.

Ditto for me Disneyfreak... I dont care for many parades or shows... but fantasmic is wonderfully magical, I absolutely loved it!

I have probably seen this show about 100 times (or more). It still gives me chills.

This is, despite BTMichael's feelings, one of the most amazing things in the park.

This is one show that doesn't get old no matter how many times you see it. This last time I went on that secret deck by big thunder and watched how they do the show behind the scenes.

That dock is one of the most fun places to watch from... the other place I love to be during the show, is in front of the Haunted Mansion during the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment - there's a great surround effect that makes the Mansion that much cooler.
