I just called the DLR Resort info line - Refurbishment announcement mentions that Haunted Mansion will be closed on May 17 and May 18.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?
Hopefully to replace those horrid exit lights!!!

yes I see it is closed on those days you mentioned on their website also.
It wasn't listed last week, oh well 2 days isn't bad. They are must be adding more of the exit signs everyone is talking about :~D

Yes...each individual Doom Buggy probably needs it's own EXIT sign.

I mentioned this last week in a new thread entiltled: Haunted Mansion.

Nobody seemed to care, I guess the 50th announcement was more important last week.

happyhaunts999 - next time, please be a little more specific with your thread title...but yeah, you're right, it was buried by the 50th announcement.

Let's hope for the best.

So, they didn't close the ride to INstall the EXIT signs, why close it to tweak them?

yeah, I'd be surprised if this were only to do the Exit signs. This appears to be in the trend of the 4-day Pirates closure. Perhaps they are experimenting with short, incremental closures to keep things in good shape, rather than letting these attractions go for whole years with no attention.

well, I wrote a written complaint about them and I told everyone I came across who asked if I was enjoying my day. I was also selected to take 3 surveys while I was there...maybe I look like a tourist.. :)

The exit signs were very distracting. All I could thik about was, "well, at least I know how to exit the ride".

Haunted Mansion goes through two "closures" per year already. I don't see how closing it at this time could be any more productive. Pirates -- I can see that, with the water and all.

I overheard a couple of CM's saying that they're closing it down to replace the floating candles in the hallway with a flippin' EXIT sign!

Seriously!!! Are they really going to replace the candles!?!? Couldn't they get permission to change the exit signs from glowing green to a glow in the dark more muted green. They could have a light behind them that comes on when the lights come on.

When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when sarcastic posters are present...
