i don't know if this has been asked before, but isn't it kinda freaky if you are working in the haunted mansion loading area and there are no people? because i heard of all sorts of ghost stories and paranormal happenings that take place in the loading area,,, :)

hey tours- i have friends who did star tours before they got moved to dca attractions and they said they've seen weird shadows on the monitors when there was no guests in the building...
what's super scary is working at grizzly at night! if you're in the mountain after closing, you have to walk down with a flashlight, and its really dark (sometimes they don't turn on the work lights) and you can still hear the bears growling... i'm always scared i'm going to fall into the water!

Wow...I was JUST going to start a thread about Haunted Disneyland....hahaha!
Maybe I should...I'm actually a researcher in paranormal studies in my life outside of Disneyland, and I've found a couple of things in the Haunted Mansion. Things happening there date back a long, long time. Rumor has it that a pilot crashed his plane on the spot where the Mansion now stands..that was before Disneyland was built, of course.
In Mansion, it's not just the loading area, that's for sure! Try everywhere--especially in the attic, the backstage area where the cast members commune, etc. I know some stuff is just urban legend, but there are quite a few unexplainable happenings that have even been published in various "Haunting" books published over the years.

Ok...hate to admit it in public, but I have a little clairvoyant (seeing ghosts) and clairaudient tendencies (hearing ghosts)....I know many dont believe in this, but for those that do or might be interested, I might as well list a couple of the things I strongly believe are in the Haunted Mansion....

1. There's a little boy inside the attraction--I encountered him during a walk-through of the ride, when I was in the ballroom. He was sitting on top of the fireplace on the right side--to me, he seemed shy and somewhat melancholy. Many CMS have supposedly seen or heard the little boy around the attraction, including the unloading area, where he was been spotted crying once or twice.
2. There is something mischievous up in the attic area--seems to be male.
3. On a backstage tour of the workers' area, I walked with a fellow CM to the CM snack machine located in a long hallway. I immediately felt something by the machine, and asked the CM if the HM CMS had ever seen or heard something wierd by the machine. "Not that I know of," he said. "But again, I don't believe in that stuff."
Several minutes later, when we went back upstairs to the CM operating the cameras/control board, she asked, "So, did you show her the place where we always hear that voice?" "Where's that?" "Right by the snack machine! It's SOOO creepy!"
Hahaha.

Those are the ones I've personally felt or had an encounter with, and I know of many other stories of different spirits CMS have seen or heard. Maybe it's all just special effects! If so, it's the best and most technologically advanced ride in the park! LOL.

I have been meaning to start this thread but was reluctant to be ridiculed by the skeptics on the board ;)
Myron61090 posted a question about the paranormal happenings at Haunted Mansion (no, seriously) that have been in occurrence for many years. I am aware of many, many stories regarding strange stuff happening at many places inside the park. There's Walt's apartment in the Gallery, his apartment above the firehouse, HISTA, The Haunted Mansion, Innoventions, etc. Many of the CMS speak of a little spirit named "Tommy", who is rumored to haunt some of his favorite rides in the park (Roger Rabbit, Pirates, Mansion). There is also a "Mr. One-Way", who is rumored to be around the Star Tours area, where the PeopleMover was stationed.

It makes sense...who wouldn't want to spend time after death in a place they loved? I've had a few experiences in my short time as a CM, and being in the field of paranormal studies outside of Disneyland, I know for a fact that some of these occurences are classified as unexplainable.

I'm fairly new to MP, so I hope this convo hasn't been here recently. Have any of you ever had an occurence or felt something wierd inside the park? Any stories you've heard over the years? I mean full respect for anything and anyone I have talked about, so know that I'm not being morbid in the least...I'm just asking out of curiousity for the field of study I'm currently in.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

I've never felt anything but fun inside Disneyland. I have heard the same stories as everyone else though. (pretty much what you mentioned). I look forward to reading everyone's posts though!

Btw, is this DL specific or does Queen Mary count? It's owned by Disney so . . .

LOL! I didn't know Disney owned the Queen Mary!!!! You learn something new every day.

I've done 2 investigations on the Queen Mary with my paranormal research group. Let me tell you, if that place isn't haunted, NOTHING is. Besides the 338 sailors that were killed back in WWII when the ship collided with one of its escort cruisers, our group got responses or psychic impressions from about 15+ different specific spirits, including John Pedder (the most famous) in the engine rooms, a little girl in the pool room (her presence has been documented by world-famous Peter James and on TV shows, such as "Sightings" and "Unsolved Mysteries"), 3 women in the pool room, 2 workers in an area adjacent to the pool room, a man in the changing rooms adjacent to the pool room, a woman (believed to be murdered in a now blocked-off room in the ship), the White Lady (on the deck portions), a man in captain's attire in one of the banquet rooms, a little girl roaming in the B deck hallways, etc. The list goes on and on.

Queen Mary is no longer ran by Disney...it's been ran by the RMS Foundation for about 10 years now. I've never felt anything paranormal at Disneyland or the Queen Mary. Those are two of my favorite places. I have an annual pass to both. I have also spent the night on the QM many times....never felt anything. I don't think ghosts like me...or maybe they do like me so they leave me alone..LOL

I di believe in this stuff and I go out hoping to find this stuff, but they pretty much leave ne alone. I get "feelings" soometimes on the ship, but have never seen anything. The oddest thing that has happened is taking the escalator up from the engine room and we heard an odd noise. My daughter asked what it was and I jokenly whispered, "it's john peddlar..." right after I said it that escaltor just stopped....I think it may have been a coincidence....I do have several pictures of orbs from the ship. The best picture I have of them is in thater where the second class swimming pool use to be.....I had one of my "feelings" and turned around. All I saw were the seats, but there's 3 orbs in the picture...

I am a firm believer in the paranormal, sprits realm, ghost, whatever you call it. I havent felt anything strange at DL yet, yes I have read the many articles and myths surrounding "happy haunts" inside DL. come to think of it too, if i were a ghost, i would LOVE to spend my time at DL. think about it, no waiting in lines, FREE admission, you get all the behind the scenes you want and never get in trouble for it. :D

Funny that QM was brought up. I have been (and will only be) there once. I got a total creeped out feeling and couldn't leave that place fast enough (of course this was right after wandering the hills of Hollywood following the path that the Manson Family took).

I've only been on the Queen Mary once, and I had hoped that I would see a ghost, but to no avail. I guess you can only see ghosts when you aren't looking for them.

I have never seen a ghost at Disneyland either, but I always cry at the box office for my dear departed money. :D

Well, there is no story you see what I say is true! Every time I sat in that lonely seat in the theater (you know the cast member seat) I would catch a glimpse of him on the corner of my left eye. I thought it was a cast member giving me my rotational bump but when I turned around to look no one was there.....IF you go to HISTA during your next visit ask about the ghost in the theater. Almost every cast member has experienced it!

Who do you think "he" is/was?

Got a little chill down the spine. I'll definately ask a CM about this when I'm there.
