wahhhhh I want to be there both on Nov. 18th and the 5th of December...it still frosts my cookies that the WDW has this whole celebration thing going on and Disneyland doesn't seem to be doing anything special at all......WTH happened with that anyway?

Speaking of which... the potluck has just been given a "Happy 100th, Walt!" theme. Thanks for the reminder, it never occurred to me that the dates were so close.

As long as I don't have any meetings that day, I'll plan on being there for a good chunk of the day! I've actually never been there on Walt's birthday...hope something "cool" happens that day!

I have plenty of vacation days to stay from our Dec 1st-4th visit....
But, our 3 girls have school, and my sweet hubby must be back at work. Otherwise, if it was just ME...I'd stay another day.

But, I will be there in spirit.:D

Unless they threaten to fire me for taking the day off, I will be at Disneyland on Walt's Birthday. I have the bad feeling that the Park will not be marking the day with anything whatsoever. If that turns out to be the sad case, we should come up with some kind of ceremony of our own below Walt's Apartment at the firehouse, or in Town Square, or at the statue in the Hub.

There might be cake like they have done for some of the birhtdays but that is probably the extent of it. Wath they were able to keep a celebration here so underwraps that the press never even knew about it.

My four year old and I will be there with bells on. What a great day to celebrate. Too bad the folks at Disneyland don't think so.

What's this about a potluck? Where and what time? What kind of food/items are we talking about here? I have some King crab legs in my freezer, but can't bring them down.

As you will undoubtedly see in the coming days, Disney is unleashing a huge ad campaign to encourage visits to Disneyland and DisneyWorld. The DisneyWorld promotions will be all about Walt's 100th. The Disneyland promotions will be all about Haunted Mansion Holiday and how it's your patriotic duty to go to Disneyland.

Basically, I think the park that Walt built is going to get nothing happening on Walt's 100th come December 5th. Very disappointing, if that turns out to be true.

As far as I know, they have never done anything in the Park to celebrate Walt's birthday (we often go there on that date cause it's my daughter's birthday, too).

The occasion when they gave out birthday cake all over the park was Disneyland's 40th birthday. It was the highlight of a really lackluster birthday celebration, but the cake was yummy and readily available at every turn. I think that's the least they can do for the upcoming milestone, but I won't hold my breath.

I still think we should plan something on our own for the after-work hours so as many pad people can be there as possible.

Watch they won't give out cake because people would be paranoid about it, or someone might try something that may make guests feel ill, for example Pheolphaline is a very nice thing to spray on the food of an enemy.:D
