ANAHEIM, California (AP) – Disneyland spokesperson Ray Gomez
today announced the addition of a new themed area at the
popular Anaheim resort. “In addition to park favorites [such as]
Adventureland, Frontierland, and Fantasyland we are proud to
now offer our guests: Wasteland.”

The new ‘Wasteland’ encompasses the unused areas starting in
the north at the former Motor Boat Cruise, winding down through
the vacant Submarine Lagoon, then south to the old Skyway
terminal. Area attractions include the popular one-way Monorail
Park Exit, as well as a new production of “Honey, I shrank the
Theme Park”. In clearing the way for more restaurants and gift
shops -- Disneyland’s ‘Wasteland’ will include the former Circle-
Vision building which recently housed the queue for the now
defunct Rocket Rods which replaced the old People Mover.

"We at Disneyland couldn’t be happier with our new Wasteland,"
bubbled Paul Pressler, president of Walt Disney Attractions, in a
statement. "Attendance is up, costs are down. We can only hope
sharp staff layoffs are able to keep pace…”

Also present was a beaming Disneyland Executive Vice President
Cynthia Harriss at today’s ribbon-cutting ceremonies, where a
throng of tens of people showed up for the official unveiling. Park
officials also confirmed that expansion negotiations are underway
with Yesterland© curator, Werner Weiss.

A kind soul told me that in mid-winter They will having a Magical Evening merchandise event to add Fantasyland Theatre into the New Wasteland addition. They will use the opportunity to unload leftover Holiday themed food (green churros, cookies, sweet tamales) at low prices to ticket holders. Merchandise will be remaindered stock related to the shows presented at FL Theatre (Pocahontas, B&B, etc), plus new pins. Only $60. for this one, folks!!!

Is there going to be a special $200 dinner ticket event? What will the leather jacket look like? When can we view the merchandise? Can I fax in my ticket request?
