"Amid growing animosity between Anaheim and Walt Disney Co., the president of the media giant’s Disneyland Resort asked the city to end all tax incentive deals in hopes of promoting “cooperation and goodwill.”

I have read that no incentives allows them to not have to adhere to some of the higher wage increases coming.

That was suggested near the end of the article. Disney has denied it.

That was suggested near the end of the article. Disney has denied it.Disney had already agreed to a wage hike prior to this. It just wasn't going to make Disney's minimum wage $18 in 2021. By turning down the subsidy for building the hotel, they no longer have to build the hotel to Anaheim's specs. And this hurts Anaheim.

Yeah as really with that hotel. It could had helped out economic wise.

No paranoia.....ticket prices and AP prices will increase ..... Wait til 2019 and hold on to your wallet, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

to respond directly to the question - you could say that not getting a tax break or hotels to make revenue means a bigger increase - which could happen. However, if the November ballot initiative doesnt go through then Disney may still build the hotel. They will have to compete with the other 4 stars being built that will be taking beds. $300M in tax break vs billions in revenue after all this construction to me means they'll still build it but they are willing to wait for favorable political climate.

IMO we will get an increase in October and 2 more next year. (Feb and October)
