It looks like I'm late to the party this year, and several nights of Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland are already sold out. That means it's time to post our annual reminder of how to avoid scams. In 2017, all event nights sold out by September 15th, so we recommend that you buy your tickets as soon as you can commit to a night.

If you see that a new night has sold out, please post here so we can update the top post.

ALL EVENTS SOLD OUT

Tickets are available via Disneyland.com (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/mickeys-halloween-party/) , at Disneyland ticket booths, or by (714) 781-4636.

Before you turn to Craigslist, StubHub, or eBay (all of which bring with them the very high risk of being defrauded), here are official ways you may still be able to buy legitimate party tickets directly from Disney:

Call Disneyland and order tickets by phone a limited number of tickets may be available by phone for events that are sold out online. Call (714) 781-4636 to purchase by phone. Expect to wait on hold for at least 10 minutes.
Visit Disneyland and purchase tickets in person a limited number of tickets may be available at the Disneyland ticket booths for events that are sold out online. However, if you tried to purchase tickets by phone and the night you wanted was sold out, they will not be available at the ticket booths.
Disneyland Resort Hotels if you are a guest staying at one of the three Disney-owned hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier Hotel, or Grand Californian Hotel), check with your hotel desk the morning of the event to see if they have tickets available for purchase. Last year, MousePlanet Community Leader Angela told us that a small number of tickets were reserved for Disneyland Resort Hotel guests, and were released for sale at 5:30 a.m. the morning of each party. Officially these tickets are intended only for concierge-level guests, but we've heard conflicting stories about that, and it seems some guests in standard rooms have been allowed to buy the tickets as well. If you're already staying on property, it does not hurt to ask. Angela warns that these tickets sell out very quickly, so don't wait until the party starts to try to make your purchase.
Friends or family if friends/family already have tickets, they may be able to purchase additional tickets the day of the party. Again, a small number of tickets are reserved for same-day sales to help accommodate ticket holders who may have miscounted how many they need, or who had friends/family unexpectedly join them. As with the tickets reserved for hotel guests, these are very limited, and go on sale as soon as the ticket booths open in the morning. If at all possible, get there first thing in the morning to increase your chance of getting tickets. You must have the other event tickets with youthe cast member needs to see them, and cannot just trust your word that "so-and-so already has tickets."

How are you getting that September 5 and 12 are sold out when the website says the first party is on September 19? Am I looking in the wrong place?

If you are in the Park during the day, and Mickey's Halloween Party starts, do they throw you out? Can the guests with regular daytime tickets stay? Go on rides?

MHP guests are given wristbands when they enter. Once the party starts, CMs begin asking to see wristbands. There will be CMs at the entrance to each land, at ride entrances, at restaurants and shops, at Trick or Treat trails, on the parade route, etc. If you cannot show them a valid wristband, you will be asked to exit the park/be escorted to the exit. Guests without MHP wristbands will be allowed to shop on Main Street for one hour after the party starts, then they must exit DL. If they have park hopper tickets, they can go to DCA at that time. If they cannot show a wristband to the CM at ride entrances, they will not be allowed on rides after the start of the party. If they are already in line or on a ride in DL when the party starts, they will be allowed to finish the ride and then must exit the park.

And Friday, 9/28, has now sold out. Only one Friday left: 9/21.

If you are in the Park during the day, and Mickey's Halloween Party starts, do they throw you out? Can the guests with regular daytime tickets stay? Go on rides?Yes, when the party starts, they will start sweeping to remove guests without the wristband needed for the party. Where ever you are, you won't be allowed to go further into the park. They will have groups of CMs looking for wristbands, and aiming non-party guests out of the park. At rides, stores, treat trails, restaurants, and even restrooms, they will ask for wristbands. If they allowed day guests to stay, what would be reason to have a special event?

Exactly. Why would anyone pay for a special event if people already in the park were allowed to stay and go on rides during the party? At that point, no one would buy tickets and everyone would just get to the park and stay all day so they don't miss the party. LOL I pay for my family so we can have a special time in the park, not the same thing we have at any other time. :)

Does anyone know where I can go to sell my tickets? We have a pack of 4 for Wed, September 26th and looks like we might not be able to attend due to scheduling conflict. I'm not looking to make a profit, just recoup all the amount of money I paid as a passholder. :eyeroll:

The fine print on the MHP webpage and on the tickets themselves state that they are not for resale, not transferable, and are not refundable. You can donate the tickets (contact AVP if you don't have a charity in mind) for a tax deductible donation.

Yes, the fine print does say that. We donated 5 last year(Children's Hospital) because we had to change dates. There are many being sold on Ebay but that's at your own risk to buy or sell there. It's too risky any more for anything.

Yes, try at the booths, especially since you can bring your MHP tickets with you. People have reported that if you can show the CM your own valid MHP tickets for that day's party and explain that you have an unexpected guest with you, it is possible to purchase one more ticket to add to your party. But you must bring your own tickets with you to prove that you do have them already.

Has anyone had luck this year or heard of anyone getting MHP tickets on the day of a party either at an on site hotel or at the ticket booths? Just curious.
