If you are a fan of Groove 66 please be informed that their last day to perform is now April 18th, 2004. Please join our efforts in the fight to keep them performing daily at DCA. The cast is very upset about this, please show your support and sign the petition in the link below. In addition, please call, write in to Guest Communications at the park, and sign the guestbook at www.groove66.net . Thank you.

I was never impressed by them. Yesterday I heard them singing and they accidentally switched to a different key 3 times. Hopefully their replacement actually be able to sing. Wouldn't that be nice ?

OMG - How will the park celebrate its 50th without them?

This is the best news ever! I hated this group from day one. Another reason I like Matt and Greg-- they know what doesn't work. The only people I knew who liked this group were castmember friends of the individual performers.

There really doesn't need to be a performance group at that location -- if its a good group that needs a ton of space, it creates a major disruption into the traffic flow. The design of DCA wasn't great for traffic flow from the first place, and a performance group there just makes it worse.

I know that some of the DCA management likes a group there (remember Surburban Legends performed there during the Xgames Xperience) because it makes it look like there's a crowd at DCA from the front gate. But really, its just smoke and mirrors. Work on improving the park, not band aids.

Sorry, but I hate this group. Half the time, they are in the middle of the walkways, blocking all traffic. It gets on my nerves. And I'm not gonna even start to talk about their rendition of Fly Like an Eagle....

I've never heard the group so I really don't have a horse in this race but I did check on the petition. So far there are 66 signatures. Since that number is a very significant percantage of the people who visit DCA on a given day I'd say things are looking good for the group.

Ps. DisneyLinz, which one are you?

Aren't they the ones that play on that platform towed by a Merc in DCA?

No, that's the other band that's not listed in the park map.

Groove 66 is the acapella group that preforms in the walkway betweenSunshine Plaza and BurrBank.

This is the first time I would ever say this outloud: Groove 66 should be replaced by ODV.

Groove 66 nearly singlehandedly (well, that horrible "hostess" had her part, too) destroyed New Year's Eve at DL - I've never yelled "GET OFF THE STAGE" at a Disney park before :~D

Good riddance...

I am so glad I will never have to hear another butchered cover of "God Bless the USA", or any other song by this group.

i must join in and say: HOORAY! for i also hated the group. frankly, i'm surprised that over 60 people have signed a petition to keep them. i have to wonder how many are personal friends of the group.

I always found them ok to listen to while I was walking through that area of the park, I just never stopped. Maybe over time they start to wear on you?

Buh bye! Sorry, but only a few members actually meshed well vocally. If you put the wrong liek 3 people together, they were absolutely horrible to have to listen to (and trust me, spend x amount of days at the Sun Plaza during the holidays, or even now, and you just know by sight whether you'll want earplugs or not).

Anyways, I really won't miss them all too much. But Chance to Shine is making a departure on the same date. That I am sad to hear.
