I have an AP, and I was wondering that when the time come to get a new one, (April I think) is it going to be like buying a new one, or will I get a smaller price? Anybody know?

The last time I renewed my annual passport, I believe I got a 10% discount, so I ended up paying around $ 280 total.

Call and ask just to be sure.

You get $10 off if you renew before it expires, and, from what a bank CM told me, you get a year from the day your old pass would have expired, even if you renew before then. So say your pass expires on 4/30/02 but you renew it on 4/12/01. Your new pass expires 4/30/03 anyway.

What tabacco says makes sense. Just say you bought an AP on April 30th, 2000. Then you come in on April 12th, 2001 and renew your pass. Back in 2000 you paid for a full year's use of the park, up until April 30th, 2001. What you are essentially doing when you renew on the 12th is paying for your next year in advance.

Hope that doesn't confuse anyone. :)

If there are large gaps in your visits to the park (like my visits are weeks apart, now that I don't live nearby), it is not worth the $10 discount to renew before. Just hold out and renew on your next trip, that way your pass is good that much longer.
