ABC news (Los Angeles local channel 7) reports this morning (Tue. Jan. 30, 2018) that a Twitter tweet shows a serious malfunction with a ride at Disney California Adventure.

Their headline: "Kids upset after Ursula loses head during Little Mermaid ride".

Of course, the singing and music continued, thus presenting a Haunted Mansion redux impression to the rider.

Although that one appears to be in Disneyland Paris ..... The wrath of Ursula spreads far and wide!

Ah, well that would explain the woman's dress change I was unaware of that I saw in a different article. It was purple. And one Twitter user used the hashtag dlp. Thanks!

I know it’s probably just me, but as someone who’s always seen a proper version of the ride, I think it’d be a treat to see it when something goes wrong, like these audioanimatronics losing their heads. About the only error ride I’ve been on is the boulder failing to make an appearance at the end of the Indiana Jones ride last year.

I recall a number of years ago one of the apatosaurouses in the Primeval World had a broken neck and the head kind of dangled there for a while--like days, maybe even weeks.
