Remember the Big Thunder Accident? How could we forget. Well, remember that all that really happened to the people resonsible for this was a lot of finger pointing and blame laying and talk. Nothing much was done to punish those in charge or responsible.
Remember that just a couple of weeks or so later, there was a derailment at Tokyo DL's Space Mountain. Nobody was hurt. The ride closed for a day, problem was taken care of and ride opened the next day. Company issued a public apollagy. Think that was all they did. Read this:

CHIBA - The operator of Tokyo Disneyland in Chiba Prefecture has reprimanded 17 officials for an accident involving the derailment of one of a vehicle on the theme park's "Space Mountain" roller coaster ride in December, the company said Wednesday.
Oriental Land Co said it will cut executive compensation for a managing director in charge of engineering services by 10% for three months. The company also reduced salaries for or otherwise reprimanded 16 others, including President Toshio Kagami, who said he will voluntarily give up 10% of his executive compensation for three months. (Kyodo News)
Big difference in way things are handled? Now I know that 10% is nothing to the big guys, but the way this was done is going to hit them in the pocket book, and get their attention. To bad a few Disneyland muckety mucks and a certain person in Burbank didn't get his salary hit, but instead he gets a $38 million bonus!
Something stinks in Burbank/Anaheim.
