Now the return date is February 6th, but I wouldn't hold my breath.....:eek:

I'll have to go by and look, but if they have the ship up on jacks and are building a new steel hull under it, that will take a while...

From the pictures I've seen, they were underneath the paddle-wheel welding another 4 feet on the end of the bottom sheet and pushing it forward, weld on another 4 feet, push it forward...

Then they have to lift the new bottom sheet up into it's final position, clamp it in place and climb inside the hull to weld it all together - or they need to remove the wooden deck and the steel deck underneath that (also the top sheet of the tanks) so they can weld it all together from the top...

And then they have to fabricate new steel around the wells for the fore and aft guide wheels, and other fittings. Since the fuel oil and fresh-water tanks are inside the hull, they have to be totally seamed back together and tested for leaks...

T'aint easy, McGee... ;) (Or fast.)
