So we have a lot down in the next three months, but it is the off season, and the work needs to be done....

Please don't forget....

This is what is CURRENTLY scheduled and CAN change. Keep this in mind. Always call the Resort before making plans to visit.

Remember, this is good news not bad. I dont see why some people see this as bad news. This is what needs to be done. The park is in a desperate state that needs to be taken care of. In my opinion I wish they would close the park for a month and take care of all the asphalt, but that wouldnt happen.

Yay! The park is getting the attention it deserves. I guess all those years of neglect are finally catching up. I can't wait to see everything spruced up again.

What they need to do is fix the "Mickey Mouse" Patching jobs they've done. Some of those areas look horrible. And yes they should fix the other areas as well. It would be very difficult as it would require partial and complete closures of some areas but it's possible to do it while keeping some attractions open by simple rerouting queues... some of the the hardest areas were actually done fairly recently

They used to close the park for months and months during the winter to take care of all of this.

In which years did this happen? I expect years after 1955, of course.
IMO, major rehabs should be done Land-by-Land, one per year, after winter holidays. Major rehabs should be planned years in advance, in case any major plussing has to be done (accessibility issues and such, for example).
As for the old-school, nightly railing painting, I think this could be done once a week, either all in one night -- close DL early on Monday, and keep DCA open later -- or land-by land, one night a week.

Superstar Limo is never coming back (so I have heard - thank goodness!) - I don't know why they keep putting it on the refurb schedule....

Not according to A.L.
Page two, just after last picture:

And, believe it or not, plans are afoot to reopen Superstar Limo before Memorial Day. These new TDA execs just can't figure out why you would have a perfectly serviceable ride just sitting there unused in a Park that needs all the rides it can get. As word began leaking out that Superstar Limo was going to be reopened by executive decree, several TDA jokesters commented "Greg and Matt must not have actually ridden it. They probably don't realize how bad it is."

Somebody suggested, jokingly, that they should turn Superstar Limo into a Jungle Cruise type attraction (with a guide making jokes). That's actually not a bad idea.

I have personally not been on Superstar Limo, but if it opens, I'll make sure to ride it at least one out of just pure morbid curiosity.

I suggested that, though not fully jokingly.

Ride it, before it BLOWS (chunks, that is) away.

I'm not 100% sure, but 99% sure that you are incorrect. They used to close down I think 2 days a week during the off season, operating Wed - Sun. But I don't believe they've ever closed down for months at a time.

It's only bad if you think of it as an E ticket. Against that standard, it's pretty bad. Think of it as a dark ride, like Pan or Show White, and you'll enjoy it.

I finally convince DH to splurge a little so we can experience the magic at one of the resorts and now I see that PP'slobby and pool will be down the first day we arrive. Will this impact my stay (and my husband's opinion of pay extra for the resort)? Also, anyone know a phone number so I can check on updates if needed. TIA
