Good.
Keep out the riff-raff.
And, get rid of the payment option on the AP's.

It will be seasonal pricing according to one report. This is for regular tickets.
Oh and that riff-raff helps to fund expansions and new things, as well as special events for those highbrow folks.

In other words, not the typical 1.5 to 3 % increase on day tickets / 15 to 30 % increase on annual passes we've become accustomed to?

No. It will most likely be one price outside of popular periods, another during busy times, and probably a third during holidays. Last 2 weeks of the year could be a doozy.

I'm trying to find the 15-30% increase years. In 2014, is was 3-5%. I will start looking deeper.

The rumor is tiered pricing, similar to what Universal Studios does. Should be interesting!

Its tiered pricing. May make it a bit more level going to the park. Agree should be interesting...

From what I saw there is an article in the L.A. Times on this and its happening tomorrow. Its tiered pricing. Which I think is just their way of raising it over 100 bucks without to much of a massive freak out by saying some days could be 95 now instead of 99 if its a low demand day. Which I would love to see how they are doing this and going by what is a low demand day and what isn't? That is aside from the holidays that we already know are high demand. With Disney I would think doing this will make the so called low demand days look like a high demand if it will cost some less. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-disney-adopts-demand-pricing-20160226-story.html there is the article.
"The new price will be $95 for a value day, $105 for a regular day and $119 for a peak day." and "Although daily ticket prices will rise for most days under Disney's new policy, park officials note that they are adding attractions to help justify the extra costs."
So they are trying to justify the extra costs by saying its because of adding a couple of new attractions. Ones we won't see for years. Sorry but for me that isn't justifying a damn thing. Its just greedy and their way of jumping it to over 100 bucks instead of just saying one day one park will be 100 or 105. Sounds to me like you better buy it ahead of time or it will cost you more at the gate. Sort of like how Universal has it set up in that way. Or was I misreading that?

Disney's response to MP was that in order to try to handle the growing popularity they are expanding attractions but also increasing prices for their more popular times. No doubt they want to make more money but this way they are not hitting ALL the days.

Funny - KNX newsradio is calling it Surge ticket pricing. Such an aggressive word :-).

MP reported that the one day price is the same online or at the parks. If you buy the lower priced ticket and want to go on a higher priced day, you'll have to pay the difference in price. Universal is different. You can save money on select days by buying your ticket online, but they always charge the higher price at the gates.

Ok so let me see if I understand this. If I was to buy the $95 ticket but couldn't go that day for whatever reason but could go the next or a few days later and the price is higher I would have to pay the difference in cost? How are they going to do that and not have a nightmare time at the ticket gates? I understand that they wouldn't want people buying the lower cost tickets and trying to use them on a higher cost day but it seems like this will be such a pain in the butt with how some people are about things nowadays.

Yeah, I expect that the entrance gates are going to be bottlenecked at times on busy days with people who bought non-peak tickets and are now trying to use them on peak days.

I'm curious how long it will be before APs go up again. Mainly thinking if the previous increase was based on a 99 per day value proposition or with the new 105.46 daily average. That value definition is never clear math.

I saw the pic of the new digital price boards on FB. Question: why is there no price for a 5 day on it?

An interesting comment from two parents interviewed in LA Times. The $4 decrease is not enough to get them to change their schedules and visit on a weekday. As one parent said - they have grossly miscalculated the impact of $4.
I wonder if it will be a reaction similar to when they got rid of the SoCal pass. More people upgraded to Deluxe instead of downgrading and the anonymous word coming out of Operations was "worry". I'm just curious if anyone in there really does good demographic work.
Regular days could be REALLY packed.

Being parents and having kids in school, doing weekday visits can be out of the question. The way schools are with how many days allowed absent before needing a doctors note or as in some cases in our district schools sending out officers. So with that it isn't so easy to just say let's go this day instead of that because we save only 4 bucks a person. While no matter what that 4 buck drop won't even matter because they can't afford to pay that per person in their family. You will have others that won't care and pay it no matter what like it always is with the cost of things. I don't think there will be a change in crowds really. I know it says Disney won't change the price if the crowd changes in the day but with the fact of digital boards being up I could see it happening one day after this system has been in place for awhile. In the end, I would love to see how they decided on what days would be priced at what aside from the holidays. No day outside those has been the same over the years when it comes to crowds. We went before Labor Day weekend last year and found it to be slow but would that be considered lower cost because most schools are back or still higher because it was close to Labor Day/Marathon weekend? There are all those days in May and June that used to once be slow but because of so many schools doing trips for not only Grad Nites but end of year middle schools/band/etc it is packed. Those are weekdays its happening. I know most of us would love to see how it all worked and was decided on. I think if we were allowed that peak it would be leaving us shaking our heads. LOL

After seeing the pricing for days, I am surprised at a few and wondering how they decided on prices. There are those weekends with the unofficial events and I am really surprised the ones that are always planned certain times were not priced highest. Especially with how crowded they can get. Plus the fact that they are planned a year in advanced or more for some they could have done that. It also makes me wonder about how they figured it out. Oct alone is a more crowded month altogether because of the Halloween party, travelers with the families from other states, Gay Days and such. So why not the higher end for cost on some of those days? Not like I am ok with any of this but I am just wondering on what they really looked at. We have gone on some of those unofficial days (mostly by accident) and they were the reason for overcrowding those times. I know if I was someone that had to be part of putting this together I would take that stuff into account and it looks like they didn't and however they did it was just odd. I have been going since I was little since this is where I have grown up. We have had APs for the longest time now so we have seen the ups and downs with the way crowds are, as most of you. So this is where the logic on how they decided things becomes something one would wonder about. Such as I said above about May and how it used to be and is now or Oct. Both at one point in time were great months to go and quiet but over the last few years not so. Either way I still feel this was the way to hike it over 100 bucks and nothing more but typical company greed.

One interesting thing I noticed as I looked at the new ticket pricing today is that tickets purchased today state they expire December 31, 2017. That seems like a change as I thought the tickets purchased this early in the year used to expire on December 31 of the year purchased.
Does anyone have an idea how this will work if next week if I want to upgrade my one park per day tickets to park hoppers? I was thinking before I could just pay the $40 to upgrade if I wanted to, but with the change in ticket price will I have to pay $60 to upgrade them now (the price of the 4 day tickets went up $20)???
