Had a chance to visit the Cove Bar with friends yesterday. The new expanded seating area is really nicely done and definitely improves the capacity of the place. I can see that being a very popular place during nice Spring days and during the Summer. They've changed the menu a bit as well. I think it's been maybe two years since I last ate there. It just never seems to occur to us.

The new sausage flatbread with bell peppers, onions and a pesto drizzle is really, really good. The sausage has a terrific flavor, and whereas sometimes on sausage pizza, the sausage bits are tiny, these pieces are nicely sized. The crust was nicely crunchy on the outside. Overall, I think it's one of my new favorite foods at the resort.

I've liked the nachos, though I've never really been a fan of the kind of lobster they've put on top. The nachos are still pretty good.

I'm told they had sliders on the menu before, but they are now short rib sliders with three different kinds of sauces/presentations, none of which I remember. I think one had bacon. One definitely has some arugula on it. It was very tasty.

There's an artichoke and spinach dip that I want to try as well.

Here's a picture showing the flatbread, nachos and sliders. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/682285394092634112) (I didn't remember to take a picture until one of the sliders had already been eaten.)

It looks like a piece of the pizza is missing too....

One of the sliders is tri tip with BBQ sauce and cole slaw. It is my fav, though I must admit at first I was leery.

We were going to try it in August, but didn't want to wait in the 45 minute line in the sun.

One of our favorite places to eat and relax. Kids love the smoothie's. Grr is a huge fan of the hot wings. They will make chicken nachos for you instead of the lobster. ( for people like me who can't have sea food). I'm glad they have expanded the seating, the place was getting hard to get a seat at.

They don't have the hot wings on the menu anymore.

Here's the current menu. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/683024673097920513)

We went back for lunch today.

Here's a picture of the pizza, sliders, spinach and artichoke dip, and chorizo fundido (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/683025389799669760). This time, I remembered to take pictures before we ate any of it! We liked all of it. We'll try the quesadilla rolls next time.

We had a gorgeous view from our table as well. (https://twitter.com/cstephens2/status/683025974078779392) January 1 and beautiful weather. This is exactly why I live in Southern California.

Thanks for the photo links, especially of the menu and the fundido. I had no clue what fundido was, so I appreciated that photo. It looks good!

They'll make them without any meat at all too if you're vegetarian like me! :) Mr. Jones and I tried Cove Bar when we were there for the Disneyland Half Marathon in September 2015, and it quickly became one of our favorite new places in the parks. It's on our must-do list for future trips. Glad they expanded! The wait was long before (but worth it in my opinion).

We tried to go yesterday afternoon and it was a 45-minute wait. We suggested they should probably expand even more.

We finally tried it on Friday night and MAN those lobster nachos were some of the best nachos (or food for that matter) we've ever had! LOL! They were so yummy! We also had the Quesadilla Rolls (I think that's what they were called) and they were delicious as well. I had the Mickey's Fun Wheel drink and it was delish! Can't wait to go back. It is now a must do every time for us!

Amazing, I can remember a year or so back, and you could just walk up to the bar or tables, plenty of seats, have a meal/drink and leave. Now it sounds like even just getting in is a big production...big deal....tells me there are lot more people visiting the parks at all times of the year.... wow.....

Ariels Grotto is getting some mixed to poor reviews.
Our favorites are gone from the menu, my adult daughters didn't like the changes, say they won't go back. https://media2.giphy.com/media/mSVPdk9ghFnri/200.gif

You realize this thread isn't about Ariel's Grotto, right?
