Did Disneyland have any kind of festivities today, November 18, 2003, to honor the 75th anniversary of Mickey Mouse?

I was at the park for the relatively less auspicious 60th, and management at the time pulled out all the stops. I was just wondering if current management arranged for any kind of celebration at Disneyland today.

I missed it personally, but the plan was to have a "surprise" singing of Happy Birthday to Mickey within ToonTown.

Funny how all of the execs and announcements call it Mickey's 75th anniversary (several on line stories say why) but even Cast members call it a Birthday :)

BTW - the display of 75 different Mickey's in the windows of WOD are very nice... be sure to take photos at night without flash, though, otherwise the glare will ruin your shots...

They gave out Mickey 75 Years buttons to everyone at the entrance to both Disneyland and California Adventure.

My wife and 6 year old son sang "Happy Birthday" to Mickey this morning. Does that count?

D'oh! Sorry Mickey. They were facing the wrong way.

Does Mickey ever go to Canada?

I'm surprised Ghoulish hasn't chimed in here yet...he was at Mickey's surprise party yesterday (while SOME people had to work). :p

FYI, in case anyone's interested, LaughingPlace has a story posted about the surprise birthday party in Toontown, with full transcript and pictures, at this link (http://www.laughingplace.com/News-ID507690.asp). They also have a story at this link (http://www.laughingplace.com/News-ID102170.asp) about the day's events, including the special "My Disneyland Birthday Party" at Plaza Inn. I love the picture of Mickey and Minnie decorating cakes.

I'm glad there's some links here that I can go to and see what I missed. I was on Main Street at noon Tuesday. I had spent the morning at the AP Holiday Kick off in DCA and lined up to purchase other pins at the WOD store.
I do have three of the 75th buttons however. The CMs just kept giving them to me as I went back and forth from park to park.

I thought they were celebrating my anniversary and my son's birth day!

One of these days, I'll actually make it to Disneyland on that day!
