wow... well, a couple of websites predicted before DCA completed its transformation that there would be a $1000 disneyland passport by 2014 or maybe 2015 (i don't know for sure, i am trying to remember). It came true.

What about a single day ticket, or park hoppers? Are those prices remaining the same?

Guess you wont be able to renew Premium at all?

I managed to get my premium pass just now before the change. Assuming the Disney Signature would cost me $850 would they let me upgrade to that at the park so I could get the photopass downloads?

There's always supermarket. I am surprised they won't let you renew premium but I guess they learned a lesson from the last increase/cutoff.

I tried to buy a voucher online but did not know the expiration. Now I lost my chance.

I love thisssss... but they need to take it a step further and get rid of the monthly payments...

With this past holiday season, it's just too damn crowded, so if more people want to crowd the parks, they're going to need to pay for it. Smart on Disney's move.

Oh man!! We let our Sept 30th Premium passes expire because we weren't going to use them until Oct 25th!! Sigh :( We are DVC members so we did the math and figured we would just use that $20 discount.
Kicking myself to Anaheim and back!

Pretty nervey rasing the prices 3 months before they wall off 1/3 of the Disneyland for a year plus...

Is there no longer a DVC discount on deluxe passes?

Can parking really be added (the update listing here implies it), or is it still available for renewals only? I'm not seeing it available to add, but it's early and I'm tired.

I guess the silver lining is that maybe the crowds will decrease.

AVP, Thank you for the post with detailed information. Being able to look at all the block out dates in one place, I've realized that the Deluxe pass might work for us this time :)
BYW I did try to renew our passes online today but it's a no go. Felt it was worth a try.

Spent the morning crunching numbers and we will renew...but man is it getting close to being priced out. As we always go during Christmas (my birthday is two days before...so it is my birthday trip), we are going with the Signature Plus. We figured that what we would pay in difference if we had the signature and still went during Christmas would more than pay for the Plus. So we tighten the belt here and there to pay for the new passes. Just surprised that they raised it this much when so much of the park will be down. (Also..someone pointed out on another board that Disneyland upper tier passport is now quite a bit more expensive than WDW's upper tier passport with no blockout days...things that make you go hmmmmm)

Just surprised that they raised it this much when so much of the park will be down.

I had that thought at first, but then realized that they have been selling pass vouchers that expire 12/31/15. So when making a change of this magnitude, it's really a year plus before the change fully percolates through the system. There will still be premium APs in the system that can be valid through 12/31/16. So this change needed to happen this far out in order for the premium AP to no longer exist in 2017. I figure 2017 will be another big year of construction, and then we will see another massive price increase or two and possibly even more tweaks to the blockouts, premium pricing structure they are starting to experiment with, the closer we get to whenever Star Wars land opens.

I guess the silver lining is that maybe the crowds will decrease.

While I hope you're correct, I have my doubts. The monthly payment plans are the golden goose that ensure crowd levels will never trickle to the point that these ticket increases stop. We don't take advantage of the payments so I'd love nothing more than for Disney to scrap them. From a business perspective, though, it makes zero sense for them to cut off guaranteed revenue.

I have to admit that I like the addition of the Photopass to the Signature passes. My wife and I took the family to Disneyworld in June and purchased the photopass. We had a lot of fun with all the pictures in Orlando and then came back to Anaheim and were able to continue to use it for another 2 weeks or so with Disneyland pictures. When our month was up, we had over 500 pictures in our account.

Just a couple of weeks ago my wife and I were saying it would be fun if they would offer a photopass plan that you could add to your pass so you could get pictures taken all year. I'm not willing to pay the money (I think it was about $175 or something like that) every month, so we don't get that many pictures at Disneyland (other than what we take ourselves).

One question, looking at the Disneyland website, it looks like the Photopass benefit is getting added to existing Premier Passes. Anyone have any idea if that is the case?

Dave

699 in Jan, 779 in Feb, 1049 in Oct. 350 increase for no blackouts in one year. They must still fear the Premium pass the most thinking that folks do come every single day.

Any news on daily tix? And I would say if u can park at a hotel for a couple of dollars cheaper then do it.

Last pass vouchers we purchased at Von's were $669 each for premiums on 5/18/14. That's when the price was raised to $699. We activated them 12/12/14. Their activate by date was 12-31-2014 as I recall.

Edit-Just received an email stating we will have to choose either a Signature or Signature plus if we renew. No new or renewal Premium passes as of today.

What about a single day ticket, or park hoppers? Are those prices remaining the same?

I was just on the Disney site and purchased a 4-day park hopper. Fortunately, Park hopper is still $40. The total price for the 4-day Park Hopper was exactly the same as it has been all summer - $300. I didn't compare the others, because I've only been planning to get a 4-day park hopper, so I don't know if the prices of the others have risen or not.
