Some friends ate at Hungry Bear on Saturday and said the Fried Green Tomato sandwich is no longer on the menu. :-(

They also said the portion sizes are noticeably smaller. (I guess they have to pay for Star Wars-land somehow.)

Yep the menu changed right after Labor Day, right before my trip on the 11th. I was so excited to finally try that sandwich and it's gone. They also took away the only cupcake I liked at Disneyland the Bumble Bee Cupcake :(

I just heard about the cupcakes too! Rumor is that the fried green tomato sandwich may be re-appearing on the Cafe Orleans menu. Don't know if it is there yet. Or if it ever will be.

Yes, this happened a few weeks ago. So sad. First the flat bread pizzas in DCA, and now the yummy Fried Tomato sandwich. It won't be long before the only things to eat are burgers and fries and bad pizza. Okay, probably an exaggeration, but it feels that way.

The Fried Green Tomato Sandwich can now be found at Cafe Orleans. Sadly, the Bumblebee Cupcake is still MIA.

I guess after APs Green Tomatoes were bound to be the next target. :-/ A sandwich and chips for $19.00 - amazing.

The pricing is why I'm not a fan of Cafe Orleans. 2-3 people will share the Monte Cristo for $18.99, but for anyone else it's $18.99 for a whole sandwich. Then the other sandwiches come with chips or sweet potato fries, when I'd rather split pomme frites. Not a good value for me since I don't eat the Monte Cristo.

We eat at counter/quick service locations at the park. It's ridiculous that a sandwich that was around $10 is now $20 simply because it's at another restaurant.

The Big Thunder Ranch BBQ lunch for $23.99 for all you can eat chicken and ribs, beans, coleslaw, fresh cornbread and bottomless soft drinks/coffee seems like a better deal all of the time! So sad that this is going away. :( I believe that this was leased and independently run though. Probably one of the better deals at the resort and so delicious!

We ate one of our meals at Hungry Bear this year. Hamburgers were pretty blah and I couldn't find a dessert I wanted. We just love the atmosphere though. Sitting over the ROA watching the river and the ducks was very peaceful. Place was nearly empty when we went and that did not match the other restaurants in the park.

It was Disney owned/operated.

And it is pretty peaceful, til the "Circle of Life" happens.
