Just saw that there was a Disney Parks blog post this morning for a limited number of AP participants. . . . . and it's already sold out. . . . . http://http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/01/register-now-disney-parks-blog-readers-invited-to-unveiling-of-disneyland-resort-diamond-celebration/

I saw it too late too :-/ I really wish they'd do some of these via a lottery or something so there isn't just a five-minute window to register... but alas! Is there a way to get updates to your phone when the blog posts something??

it was interesting that the twitter note is now gone (I can't find it) but it did stay in my phone. I was at the SW Half Expo and did not hear of feel the notification. So I missed it.

Remember - Most of these meetups are open to 50 registrants - 50!!!!! (so that 100 people go). Sometimes they do more but most often its only 50. This event is on the same day as the media preview for the 60th - which by coincidence also starts with Frozen Fun (according to you know who). So my guess is that the Parks Blog winners are being attached to the Media event to see the preview as well.

Congrats, hbmetzfam! It is all about the timing. I scored passes for the previous Diamond Celebration announcement on Disneyland 59th last July. The nice thing was some friends happened to be in the park that morning too, and when they saw I was inside the roped off VIP area with a front row spot to watch the birthday celebration at the Train Station, they were jealous. :p They were also jealous of the amazing freebies we received afterwards.

off topic - but the above sentiment is EXACTLY what Disney Parks events and even park experiences is all about these days. Exclusivity and "I have it and you don't" This way, I believe, they assume that interest and desire to be at the parks will be heightened a lot more than simple advertising - especially when you factor in social media elements. (this is not a rant directed at G2D, just about DIsney Parks).

I happened to see the post right when it happened, too...but I had another obligation that day (and I live 6 hours away). I was soooo tempted to blow off my responsibilities, lol!

Hope you post lots of details from the event!
