Hi,
I've got one the Indy translation cards for the writings that cover the walls of the Indy queue line area. One is pictured in an issue of Disney Magazine. They were provided by AT&T and given out as you lined up. I must of been there right after it opened.
Does anyone else have one?
Does anyone know it's value?

I got one about 6 months after Indy opened. Not sure how much they are valued. I actually have several because they gave me one everytime I stood in line for the ride. I went on the ride about a year after it opened and got more cards but I tossed them since I already had so many.

I've got a stack of them in my "Disney Collectibles" box. They were given out for most of the first year of operation and rarely thereafter until AT&T dropped sponsorship.

..then there are people like me, who hand-wrote them down on hard copies, and notebooks....

I told a guy at a collectibles shop that some movie posters I had were just junk, to which he replied, "Nonesense, EVERYTHING has value." (emphasis his)

For those cards? Eh, you could put one on eBay and see who bites.

I can kinda read those glyphs, but does anyone have a picture or a PDF file of the translation cards?

Always been curious what they all said.

I keep one of mine in my wallet. I guess that would seem strange to anyone except my fellow MPers. Even when they were first giving them out, and the lines actually went through the entire themed queue, I was never in one spot long enough to use the code to decipher the glyphs. I always figured they were ads for AT&T :fez:

That's funny, I personally keep a "complimentary" Disney pass in my wallet....y'know, in case of emergencies.

I've heard that there was more than one version of the card. Is that true?

Well they just had a different design in the background or whatever. There're 3 different designs

I've never seen in person before. I think it's the first one that's been handed out. It looks like this (http://www.perry.com/disney/indy/decoder.jpg)

Another one is with a huge cobra (?) trying to bite at a jeep as it's driving away above the glyphs and translation. It looks like this (http://www.perry.com/disney/indy/decoder2.jpg)

Finally, there's the one with a picture of the Suspension Bridge above the glyphs and stuff and translation. (I have this one). And it looks like this (http://www.perry.com/disney/indy/decoder3.jpg)

Which one do you like best?!

I also have the third one with the suspension bridge. I don't know if I ever saw the first two.

I just looked at the first one again and that one only comes up and then it disappears really quickly when you make that really sharp turn after "Foolish Mortals! You looked into my eyes! Now your path leads to the gates of doom!"

It looks nice but I'm just saying that I'm not sure if people notice that design in the ride and they (people who make the cards) should've maybe made a different design.

actually I don't even know what that design's suppose to mean....

I rode the ride so many times (sometimes with my family and got 4 cards at a time) in the first year I must have about 100 of them. I have all three designs. I keep hanging on to them to see if they get to be worth anything. I have seen them sold for about $5.00.

And yes, I have one in my wallet. I haven't been able to figure out most of the writing on the walls due to moving in line as well, but I may go in just to do that soon. I know the one over the set of two drinking fountains says "Choose Wisely" an obvious advertiseing ploy from AT&T. There could be one that reads "Switch your long distance to AT&T today!".

Now if they will only make a card so I can read some of this neighborhood tagging! I think they are talking about me..........

For those to lazy or unmotivated to decode everything, or for those who no longer have the cards this site (http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Shores/1345/#concordance) may be for you.
