Saw this story posted on ABC 7's facebook page. I am so happy for him that he lost the weight, sad for him he lost his father.

I guess everyone needs a hobby.

I didn't watch the video, just read the story so maybe the answer to my question is in that, but what does riding RSRs 2000 times have to do with losing his dad?

i think his original goal was 1000 rides, and he upped it to 2000. The story intimates it was due to losing his father but it was not explicit.

BTW - the title should obviously Someone's hobby, not Somenone

The article was corrected. His dad did not die last year.
