View Full Version : Tribute to Robin Williams [during Aladdin show?]

I am curious if anyone has heard of any upcoming tribute or mentions of Robin Williams during the Aladdin Show at DCA? With how much Genie is the center of the show and Williams being the origin of that, it would be fitting. :crying:

I saw a picture on Facebook, posted by an actor who plays the Genie. He said he was not going to make any references during the show (paraphrasing) because they're supposed to be lifting people up and entertaining them, not reminding them of sad news.

My friend was in the parks Tuesday and said at the final curtain of the performance they attended, the actor playing the genie clasped his hands and looked up in tribute/acknowledgement to Robin.

This says it all. If you didn't hear the beginning, this was a one shot deal at the end of the play.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Here is the tribute from Aladdin-The Musical that Disney just shared.

Those are from the Broadway show, not the show in the theme park.

That's what I was thinking, because the theater and set looked different than the DCA show. Thanks for confirming it!

Still it was a tribute from a Disney stage Genie, even if it wasn't in DCA - so that satisfies my curiosity.

IMHO it was more about celebrating the entertainer and his accomplishments/contributions than anything to do with Disney specifically, but that's just me.
