Just wondering what the craziest, wildest, riskiest thing was that you did at Disneyland? I am sure there are some wild things here that we can read about, eh?!!

Let us know!! Make us laugh!

:D

Cartwheel on Main Street in front of the cinema.

Necking with some guy I had just met on the caboose of Casey Jr. (night time ride).

Spending a rainy honeymoon at Disneyland, then getting really really sick.

One time when I was on POTC with a large group, one of the guys I was with managed to get a shoelace piece of red licorice to hang from the shooting pirate on the right in the last scene. We all laughed so hard!

Wait in line for the Rocket Rods.

Go into Innoventions the second time.

Heavily making out at the M&F parking structure with some guy I met that evening at Golden Dreams. I can't even remember his name.

Throwing a surprise Star Wars themed b-day party for my best friend at the picnic area, complete with streamers, banners, and a life-sized Luke Skywalker standee, which a lot of people wanted to take pictures with, and then we walked around the esplanade with it saying "Pictures with Luke! Only one dollar!" They wouldn't let us bring him into the park, which foiled our plan of putting him on rides. :( So, we took him on the M&F parking tram, stood him on the escalator and talked to him like he was real, and "escorted" him to the car, making sure to stop at the security cameras and make "scenes" with him. :D

Mamabot and Merlin!
Great things....that was funny!

Merlin, I agree.....I stood in line for the Rocket Rods on July 3, 1998 for 1hr 45minutes....and it was overwith in like 4 minutes! It was a great ride, I loved it....but it wasn't worth the wait. I was glad myself when they started the 'single rider' option....but then it started breaking down left and right. I was on it once when it broke down twice -- it was a hot day in July 2000 when that happened.

Innoventions.......I go in like once a year.....it's utterly borring I think.....it's one of those "once is enough" sort of rides/attractions.

Come on ALL of YOU! Give us the craziest thing/riskiest thing you've done at Disneyland!!

Here's one for you that I did.
When I was a teenager, we were at the Mexican restaurant in Frontierland - next to the shooting gallery and Big Thunder. There was a large group of us....two cousins, and my brother who were each about 13 or 14, and a friend of mine and a couple of others....and all of us, none of us exceeding 19 years old.

We were lighting and relighting the red candles on the table. Do you recall those candles??? Well, somehow, some way, someone stuck a big old wad of napkins in there....and we had a flame at our table about a foot high. We were hysterical.....and I blew it out and it was a huge POOF of smoke.....almost like Endora from Bewitched had cast a spell of sorts....very funny, but security didn't think it was so hot.....they came and I begged them to let us stay....and I blamed the younger ones and that I would keep them 'in line' -- in reality I was the one that stuck that napkin in the candle jar.

I have to pick only one?

That sounds intensely funny.....it's almost like picking your nose at the ATM camera. You're funny.

Another time, in the way of "crazy things", my friend Becky and I were at Disneyland one Friday in January 1986 -- in fact, it was before the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, it that puts a time perspective into place for you.

She and I had just eaten Fritters and Mint Julep at at French Market. Remember when the Fritters were one big Fritter??? They were better then.....anyway....we saved the ice cubes from our Mint Juleps and took them on the Haunted Mansion with us....and we proceeded to throw ice cubes at the 'ghosts'.

Well, we were right at the point before you go into the area where Madame Leota (woman head in crystal ball - that is her name isn't it?)...we were just about the point where the coffin is trying to open and at the point where the clock is pointing at 13 and the clock hands are swiftly moving counter-clockwise....and we continued throwing ice cubes....and we threw one at this man in a suit of armor......and it went "CLANK" and he walked away....we were shocked....as it was getting dark at that point on the ride....toward Madame Leota's area....and then....to our surprise, after we threw the ice cube and the man of armor that walked away, the ride stopped!!! Well, we stuffed the contents of the ice cubes into Becky's purse and played innocent....they looked in our "doom-buggy" and the "doom-buggy" ahead of us....and then they walked off and the ride proceeded.....

and suffice to say......I've never thrown anything on that ride again!

Tell them all -- we'd love to know.

I think it's rather annoying that people like to do things like throw ice and candy in rides - and light things on fire - and expect people to tolerate that sort of behavior - yet are rather intolerant of other people.

Perhaps, when these sorts of people are around and doing these things that we should lean over and tell our children to look away and pretend they don't exist.

Justagrrl, I agree with your statement of that which I once did as being annoying. However, kids will be kids, won't they? I see teenagers at Disneyland and DCA today doing things that just drive me crazy at times....and I think to myself, was I like that? God forbid, but I guess I was, but I learned and I grew up.....and I don't do those things anymore. And you know what, I got in trouble at home for the things that I did because of my big mouth brother....hahah....so, I had to pay for what I did. My Dad always told me that "it's no good to have fun at other peoples expense" and I totally agree with that....and I began to feel bad at the things that I was doing as a dumb kid roaming Disney's Magic Kingdom. I was taking away from the happiness of the Happiest Place on Earth.

I've obviously offened you on another "topic". I'm not here to discuss that one any longer.

Do you have a 'craziest thing' Justagrrl?

Humm, tension and a chilly atmosphere-

I don't have any crazy things to share, wish I did.

Craziest thing I ever saw someone do though was stand up on POTC to take flash pictures of the skeletons. Annoying! And some idiot pitched gum at the scrim in the graveyard and also on the clock in the Hall of Doors-

Why do people do that?

Ask G-hawk- he has stories to tell;)

Nothing too outrageous...last year 4 of us kind of liked the idea of having a Splash Mountain photo. We attempted the YMCA sign, but it looked kind of lame...needless to say, we didn't buy the photo:rolleyes:

It was the day Red Shirt Guy became known as Red Faced Guy. My husband made me swear I would never do it again in public in front of him.

But I'm not in the mood for the lecture I'd get from some members for telling the story here. No one was hurt, no laws were violated, no DLR policies were violated. I promise. :D

My CRAZIEST thing cannot be mentioned here; in keeping with PG rating (it involved my now wife and it was on the caboose of a DLRR train  ).

I know I am going to get blasted by somebody for my "rudeness", but I am going to mention this one anyways. There was a group of about eight of us on a rainy day (those always seem to be the funnest!). For some unknown reason, I decided to get into as many other people's group pictures as possible. Not ones with just a couple or of just kids. Bigger groups, with 6-10 people (or more). If I was near and saw they were about to take the picture, I would just slide in innocuously like I was part of the group, then quitely disappear. Most of the photographers noticed and would laugh about it (one did frown at me, so I left). But I would have loved to see the look on peoples faces when they got their pictures back with some strange guy in it tryiing to figure who he was! My goal for the day was to be in 20 pictures. I would have made it, but they closed the park earlier due to "inclement weather" so I only got in 16.

On the same day, we were all walking through Mickey's House in TT. Instead of just taking a picture of the eight of us in his chair (towards the beginning of the walk-through), we got as many people in the line to join us for the picture - about 40 I think. Turned out to be a great photo!

When I was in high school (20+ years ago) I was a band geek :geek: and we played at Disneyland one day. Afterwards, my buddy & I we were strolling around the park and at one point started flirting with Minnie. The CM in the costume actually invited us to meet her when she got off. To this day, I regret missing that meeting, but I can always say I was "picked up" by Minnie Mouse!

Everyone is submitting some great stuff. I am sure all are enjoying reading all of our memories.

On the "picked up by Minnie" idea, a friend of mine and I were at the park quite late on the Saturday during Thanksgiving Weekend in 1994.

We sat and talked to Roger Rabbit in Toontown for about an hour....and at the end of our conversation -- Roger actually said something! I hope I don't get Roger fired for saying this!!

I totally have done that "jump in someone's picture" thing myself. It is hysterical!

IN July 2000 we had a group of about 14 annual passholders with us....and we all had those light up spinning things....some today have Tinkerbell on them and she spins and then three lighted type rings hand from it. Maybe you know what I mean. Well, anyway, it was July, so we all got red white and blue ones...
We were in line for Big Thunder Mountain and we had a lighted strip through the entire duration of the ride.....with those spinners.....I was at the head of the group and when I looked back, it was way way cool. I was almost 29 at the time....still acting like a kid.....and oh, by the way, my brother was with me, 25 at that point, and he and I had moved far past annoying other Disneyland park guests (per a point made by another reader earlier).

I forgot to add: No other guests were impacted in any way, shape or form, either, outside of the group I was with.

You confused me here... If you had a "conversation" with him for an hour, how was it that he actually said something at the end of your conversation?!?

Or am I just completely missing something here (too many Churros have fried a few brain cells :( )

Dude you are killin me with your wit.

Well, you're right....actually, we were conversing in a sort of way....Roger Rabbit would nod or do some sort of Toontown sign language....but actual audible words were uttered from beneath that Rabbit smile.....

So, we felt like we'd really accomplished something by getting Roger to talk....and we already knew Roger cast member was a girl, so that's why we stuck around so long.....it was funny.

Well, if you think too many churros have fried your brain, there's always the Dole Whip next to Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. Those things are so good and only $2.50 -- well worth it I'd say.

Dude, I hope you weren't thinking I was being sarcastic....I think it took wit to see my verbal mixup anyway. Thanks for the correction.:D

Actually my favorite yummies in DL are either an Apple Cinamon Crumble Bun (heated of course) and a glass of milk from Blue Ribbon Bakery or an Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich (hand made no doubt!) from The Cone Shop.

I agree with your dessert likes. I generally only like the Dole Whip's in the summertime or in the days when it's warm. Often on a Friday Night in the winter, we'll go get hot chocolate and a warm muffin and go and sit in at the tables of Carnation Cafe and people watch....all the while we'll be bundled up....

We were saying this summer while on the tram one night going to the car "Man, it's so hot tonight, it's hard to believe we'll actually be freezing on this same tram in December and January."

It's strange huh.:)

Well, I've also been known to have done some crazy stuff at Disneyland in my irresponsible and irrepressible youth.

During one particular corporate private party, I pulled a stunt that I'd never have done during normal operations, with day guests around. I was waiting for some friends who had gone on Pirates of the Caribbean without me. It seemed to me they were taking a long time, so I walked inside the exit and watched for their boat to come up the lift. A lot of time went by, and I still didn't see them get to the end of the ride.

So, I climbed over the brick wall at the spot where the white lattice stops, and walked back along the narrow brick ledge on the other side of the lattice, above the churning and precipitously descending waters of the boat lift. I went all the way back, as far as I could go - to the brick wall with the arch that the boats come through out of the lift tunnel.

And when I finally saw the boat with my friends in it, I jumped from the ledge and landed across all their laps in the back row of their boat.

They were all a bit freaked out, to say the least.

I've done quite a few odd things at Disneyland, but that's certainly one of the toppers.
