The criteria for my perfect day at Disney are:
(1) No crowds.
(2) Sunny days, starry nights.
(3) Not hot, not cold. Not humid.
(4) Happy, even-tempered guests. Happy, friendly Cast Members.

Perfection is hard to achieve, but it was achieved yesterday. The perfect Disney day. Our first.

After work, we got to the park at 5pm, left at 8pm. NO LINES, anywhere. Enough people that it didn't seem like a ghost town. It was sunny  late afternoon, but neither hot, nor humid. No hot sticky bodies. No grouches. No frayed nerves. No hustle. No bustle. Very mellow.

Lots of smiles :D :D :D :D :D .

We walked right on to EVERY ride. We kept surprising ourselves by how much we were doing, effortlessly. In just three hours, we did ALL of this:

Said goodbye to the Country Bears (sniff!) :crying:; waved to Pooh & Tigger at Pooh Corner. Our first herky-jerky ride on Indy, appreciating the effects, thanks to Lost Boy's wonderful posts on this board. Climbed up and down Tarzan's and Jane's (do they have a last name?) tree, missing the Robinsons, the original occupants, while enjoying the panoramic views from the tree's high vantage points. Cruised the Jungle Cruise (my, that jungle has grown!). Stopped for ice-cold pineapple for hubby and puckeringly sour dill pickle (yum!) for me at the fruit stand in Adventureland. Strolled over to the hub, pausing to pay our respects to Walt Disney and Mickey. At Tomorrowland, we were first-timers on Star Tours, Honey, I Shrank the Audience, and Innoventions. We rode the monorail to Downtown Disney and Ralph Brennan's sidewalk cafe (not the restaurant) and instant service and open sidewalk tables and chairs... Gumbo Yaya for me, and Po' Boy for hubby...under starry skies.

We were home by 9pm, just in time for Barbara Walters' interview with Anne Heche.

We realized that it doesn't get better than this and savored our perfect Disney day. IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE: the off-season does indeed start RIGHT AFTER after Labor Day Weekend . It was worth waiting for...

The crowds did just vanish. I went today (a Saturday) to DCA. There was no line over 10 minutes, they had fastpasses for everything even after 4pm.

The Rollercoaster was working (a plus in itself).

The millionare game had Ken Parks the Actor-he was really very good, made the show much better with his wise cracking.

The weather was just right too.

Is it safe to assume the attendance was lower at DCA than at DL? Maybe everyone is saving their money for a real park vacation.......TDS?

Both parks were light, but yes DCA had less.
