Im not saying this will actually happen I am just wondering what you would do if Eisner decided to make a Disneyland Resort and Casino, with Mickey Mouse slots, Goofy Rulette Wheels, Big Thunder Blackjack, and Donald video poker. I personally would collaspe but what would you guys do?

Well I'd first suffer from Supra Ventricular Tachycardia then eventually expire. I mean this would be horrible. The funny thing is that this would be a way for Eisner to make some good money but do you think it would ever happen? I doubt it will but it would be interesting huh? Wonder if it has ever crossed Eisner's mind.

I agree I dont think it will every happen but if the thought of casino ever passed through Eisners mind he probably saw $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and began drooling and then went into depression because he knew making a casino for disney probably would not fly.

I think it'd be far more likely to see one of these two things happen:

Disney buys the Aladdin and just adds the characters to what's already there. DL/LV packages offered by the Disney company turn a lame duck into a profitable hotel at last. Eventual entertainment and theme offerings make the Aladdin a must-see destination.

or

Disney takes an already-compromised set of characters (whose use in a casino would shock the least) and creates the wildly successful though slightly psychadelic Alice in Wonderland casino. Slots appear under brightly colored mushrooms and 10-foot tall flowers, table games are played on top of enormous teacups, the poker room is surrounded by the 5 of clubs and his mates, blacklights abound, cocktail waitresses walk around in skimpy blue pinafore dresses. Apart from the casino, a family-friendly entertainment area includes the usual arcade games, Disneyquest games, and, of course, a Mad Tea Party attraction. In short, they create the coolest new casino in town, stealing a fair share of Hard Rock's crowd while also attracting a number of families.

I'd go!

In 1990, when I was working at a TV show produced by Disney, Buena Vista was playing with the idea of producing a state lottery program for some state, I believe in the Midwest. These shows are perfectly legal and lame as can be (at least the California and Illinois versions, the ones I am familiar with, are) and Disney/Buena Vista could have really improved them.

They bowed out because they didn't want to be involved with gambling.

Some time has passed, and Frank Wells has died, since then, but I think the same feelings that stopped them from going ahead might still be in force today.

who knew something was up when he came back from lunch one day and Frank Wells was leaving the building as I came in. He smiled and held the door open for me, and acknowledged my surprised "Thank you," but I knew something was up.

The show was cancelled two weeks later. Wells had made a courtesy visit to our Executive Producer to give him the news first, and in person.

Good man, Frank Wells.

Actually, the Aladdin has already been sold, to Planet Hollywood, so the ''already-compromised set of characters" would be Rocky Balboa, The Terminator, David Addison and G.I. Jane.

Of course, that big vacant lot on Las Vegas Bouevard across from the Sahara is still available...

About 20 years ago my aunt and uncle owned a large parcel of land south of the Airport in Las Vegas, and they were contacted by Disney about selling. They thought about selling it, but Disney didn't pursue it any further, at least with them.

Will I have to get a FAST PASS to avoid the long line at the roullete wheel;)

Morrigoon

No, Disney's FASTPASS© will only be availible for the buffet, and only through acquisition of points in the Disney slot club, or to guests who booked their vacations through Walt Disney or AAA Travel.

Thus, such thoughts hath Eisner wrought, and the lands did wither and the thoughts of sleaze and degradation blocked out the Magic that aforehand would have stopped such low thinking...and lo, upon the day after Eisner vacated his post, a new Sun rose upon just another tired Amusement Park and there came the Age Of The Bulldozer....and no one noticed.

Well...... Disney did happen to purchase a good-sized chunk of property in the southern area of Las Vegas, near Blue Diamond Road about 6 or 7 years ago....... (according to a family member who has access to various land records there anyway)

Who knows?????

I do like Moorigoon's Alice idea though. :fez:

If done right, I think a Disney-themed casino would be cool. But I'd still have to drive all the way to Vegas to see it, and DLR is much closer.

They could help build the Pocahontas Indian Casino, eh? Then it could be almost anywhere in California..

By the way, is there a Casino aboard a Disney Cruise Ship?

Walt Disney wanted a place where kids and adults could do things together. He had only a minimum number of attractions that required a certain height. Even the Matterhorn was height restriction free.

After he died the powers that be( even before eisner ) decided that keeping families together was not near as important as keeping up with competing amusement parks. All of the sudden Grandma and little Jr. are waiting outside of every other attraction while Mom, Dad and big Sister are riding it. And so on.

Seems perfectly logical to buld a casino......why Walt was "old fashioned in his thinking" anyway. I am sure if he were alive today he would want his name all over something that was exactly opposite of what he built Disneyland for in the first place:rolleyes:

I think you guys may have something here. Themed casinos, Disney on dice. But what hasn’t been mentioned is themed prostitution. Think about it.... It is legal in Nevada, hookers who look like princess Jazmen, or Arieal. I know there pervs that go for the chicks with fins. For the females, Chip and Dale at (you guessed it) Chipndales. :D A whole new adult theme, that is centered on children’s favorite theme characters. I think the whole casino idea is sick IMHO. However, when you think about it, Disneyland is becoming just like a casino. Cameras everywhere, you go and loose all your money, and the only entertainment for kids is arcades and a few rides that are sub par. Well, maybe that is a little extreme but you can see where I am going here. :p

How about a Disney strip club called STRIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH?

Hey, I've had a thing for Snow White, Cinderella, and Tinkerbell since I was a kid! I'd love a "magical" lap dance! :p My-oh-my what a wonderful day that would be!
