I will be there next week, where could I get a good cup of coffee on the way to the park?

The resort hotels each have a coffee bar. Hearthstone @ GCH Coffee Bar @ PPH and Coffee House @ DLH. Starbucks is on Katella east of State College there is a Panada Express and Carl's Jr there as well.

That depends where are you staying? Several of the off site hotels have a Starbucks in their lobbies. If not one might be on your way.

Here is a listing of Starbucks near Disneyland (http://www.starbucks.com/retail/locator/PrxResults.aspx?a=1&LOC=33.8139921277395%3a-117.915361302725&CT=33.8139921277395%3a-117.9153613027251.78126408441369%3a1.3359480633102 7&countryID=244&FC=RETAIL&dataSource=MapPoint.NA&Radius=5&GAD2=1313+S+Harbor+Blvd&GAD3=Anaheim%2c+CA+92802&GAD4=United+States&IC=33.8139921277395%3a-117.915361302725%3a32%3a1313+S+Harbor+Blvd)

If you go to #7 on the list - at Brookhurst and Ball - you could order this:

"The Jedi"

It's a cold coffee drink (but not blended) with lots and lots of caramel and a few shots of espresso and their special touch.

Tell them that the red haired guy that moved to Corona told you. ;) (and no, I'm not the red haired guy - my husband is - and was sort of sad to move away from this starbucks in particular - nice group of people.)

Is it just me or is DTD the "perfect" place for a Starbucks?? I mean if we can have a Wetzle Pretzle why not a Starbucks (Frappacino) to go along with it?

I could have sworn there was a Starbucks in GCH? It would be great if they had a Starbucks in DTD! I bet it will soon be on it's way since they are putting a Jamba Juice in.

Perhaps not. Downtown Disney would be a great place for a Starbucks, but not in Disneyland. That would be like putting a McDonalds in Tomorrowland. :p :fez:

Why not put a McDonald's in Tomorrowland? It's not as if there's anything in Tomorrowland now...

Trying to get back on topic now....

I usually don't drink coffee, but I actually like the coffee at DL more than Starbucks.

However, I do think putting a Starbucks at DTD would be good though, next to Wetzel's. :D

I've had some good coffee drinks at LaBrea Bakery in DTD.......

Starbucks in DTD might be an issue because of the coffee bar at Compass Books. Although, CB is waaaaaay different from Starbucks in selection and quality, Starbucks would be a direct competitor to CB.

It's very sad. I always forget about CB.

BTW, next time you want to find the closest something to Disneyland, take the advice on this thread (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=282153) and use http://www.yp.yahoo.com . And yes, I'm going to mention this every single time until everyone on the internet knows how to use it to their advantage. :geek:

Just what this world needs, another Starbucks. There just aren't enough. (do I have to mention that I'm being sarcastic?).

I'm not a big coffee drinker anyway, but now that I know it exists, any time I DO want coffee at DLR, I will go to Compass Books. I wholeheartedly support non-chain, or at least small chain, operations any chance I can get. The more prevelant they beome, the more I have a distaste for large chains.

Man, they should put a McDonalds, Starbucks and a Taco Bell in Disneyland. That would be so awesome.

The statistics in our area show that when a Starbucks goes into an area, the other coffee shops see an increase in sales for more than a year.......it has gotten so that independent coffee places welcome Starbucks to the neighborhood.

It's like you get into a coffee state of mind and it becomes a habit and you seek out coffee a bit more......at least that's the way the trend seems to go up here in the NorthWest.

I don't think Starbucks would be a bad addition to DTD at all.

I agree, it is a bad location. I love browsing (and buying) at their magazine stand, but it's a loooong way to go. I've never tried the coffee there - do they make the usual blended drinks? Any recommendations for what to order?

Compass is a great location...if you're a hotel guest.

I suppose I won't suggest a Wal-Mart at DTD then? :p;)

Other goods, I'm less annoyed at. There are a wide variety of products for which production/marketing/chaining are a benefit. Office supplies, electroincs, hardware, etc. But not food.

Wal-Mart, however...I can't put my finger on it. Don't like it. Don't know why. I've tried to be objective when going in there, and I just don't like it.

I think they need to tear down Tomorrowland and replace it with a giant food court. Then they can take out all the rides and replace them with more shops. :p

After all, Walt had a good idea, but shopping trends have just advanced beyond the Fifties, and besides, the public comes to Disneyland in order to shop and spend money, not waste time on silly rides that might kill them or advocate unhealthy political ideas to infants. :D

(I'm kidding, y'all. That thar's whut yuh call a hole in Western Germany, aka Saar Chasm.)
