Will they still be performing at the Golden Horseshoe? It only talks about the jamboree in the blog.

Really sad. The least Disney could do is let them perform in the Horseshoe one last time. Sigh.

from the opening paragraph of the blog
"At the end of this special holiday run, their final day of performances at Disneyland park will be January 6, 2014." (bold emphasis mine)

so its in entirety no more Billy, et. al.

This sucks. I am not one for petitions and letter-writing campaigns, but this really, really sucks.

Longtime Disneyland (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q1DisneylandParktoRetireBillyHillandtheHillb illiesActJanuary60001) guest favorite Billy Hill and the Hillbillies (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/entertainment/disneyland/billy-hill-and-the-hillbillies/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q1DisneylandParktoRetireBillyHillandtheHillb illiesActJanuary60003) are getting ready to begin their final seasonal holiday performances at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/05/rounding-up-some-fun-at-big-thunder-ranch-jamboree-at-disneyland-park/) this Friday. At the end of this special holiday run, their final day of performances at Disneyland (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/destinations/disneyland/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q1DisneylandParktoRetireBillyHillandtheHillb illiesActJanuary60002) park will be January 6, 2014.

Billy Hill and the Hillbillies have been entertaining guests at Disneyland park for more than 20 years and join a legacy of live entertainers that have performed in the park throughout its 58-year history. Future plans for Big Ranch Thunder Jamboree are to feature a variety of entertainment offerings during our many seasonal and special celebrations.

My wife and I are devastated by this news. It's like a part of our "Happy Place" just died. So sad.:crying:

:(
What IS going on in the Horseshoe now? I hope it doesn't end up like the Diamond Horseshoe in WDW.

I've been going to see them for years and moved with them no matter where in the Park they were moved. I am sick over this news. They are the main reason I even still have a Pass at Disneyland. Rides don't do it for me that much anymore (I'm getting up there) and it's all about entertainment for me now. The Billys are my top group. I have big decisions to make now regarding my Pass.

My concern is if the Billys are going, how long before we hear that Farley the Fiddler is gone as well, or will he just quietly disappear?

I'm not a huge fan (I know, most of you disagree) but I saw one of their shows last year in Big Thunder Ranch and the sign language interpreters they had were AMAZING! So much so that I stopped by City Hall on the way out to leave positive feedback for them.

I'm sure Disney owns everything involved, but I'd like to see them get a lunch show at House of Blues with one or two seatings. Even if it's just Fri & Sat. (I know they already have Gospel Brunch on Sundays with 2 seatings).

Bummer. Wishful thinking on my part...I'm just glad I will get to see them one last time.

I hate having this taken away. I am not a bluegrass fan at all, but I loved this group! I am a musician, and I appreciate the great talent the whole group has, as well as the entertaining and humorous shows they provide. They honestly should NEVER have been moved from the Golden Horseshoe where their show worked much better, in my opinion. Plus, the Golden Horseshoe was always packed for the Billys, but not so much for Laughing Stock. You would think Disney would want more people in there buying food.

(I know they already have Gospel Brunch on Sundays with 2 seatings). It is my understanding, Disney doesn't own "Billy and the Hillbillies". My understanding, John Marshall owns the name. They do play in various other locations under the name. That said, I am not happy with this.
