Whatever the investigation of the Big Thunder RR fatality finds, my family is through with Disneyland. I practically grew up at the place, and until recently often took my own kids. Whatever was unique and special is dead for me. The place is decayed, empty, ancient, surviving mainly on nostalgia. There is no "wow" factor, no novelty. The park is no longer distinguished by superior customer service. Recent accidents that were not caused by "rider error" demonstrate to me that Disneyland is no longer any better than other theme parks. My family will be back only if Disneyland returns to world class status. It has come down to a simple commercial decision not to buy an inferior product.
