I'm not sure it would have been possible to write a release with fewer details, but Disney has announced (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/08/encounter-thor-from-thor-the-dark-world-this-fall-at-disneyland-park/) that there will be some sort of meet-and-greet with Thor somewhere inside Disneyland sometime this fall:

In celebration of “Thor: The Dark World” coming to theaters November 8, guests at Disneyland (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/destinations/disneyland/?CMP=SOC-DPFY13Q4EncounterThorfrom%E2%80%98Thor:TheDarkWorl d%E2%80%99ThisFallatDisneylandPark000120-08-13) park will be able to visit Asgard this fall and come face-to-face with the Mighty Avenger, Thor.

This summer at Disneyland park, Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/05/suit-up-at-iron-man-tech-presented-by-stark-industries-at-innoventions-in-disneyland-park/) has given us a close-up look at Tony Stark’s Hall of Armor and an opportunity to virtually “suit up” in the Mark 42 armor featured in the blockbuster film, “Iron Man 3.” And we’ve recently learned Captain America (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/08/meeting-marvels-captain-america-at-the-d23-expo/) will be appearing at Avengers Academy (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/08/is-your-little-super-hero-avengers-material/) on the reimagined Disney Magic (http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/magic/?CMP=SOC-DPFY13Q4EncounterThorfrom%E2%80%98Thor:TheDarkWorl d%E2%80%99ThisFallatDisneylandPark000220-08-13). Soon, we’ll have a chance to meet yet another super hero.

Be sure to check back here on the Disney Parks Blog (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/) next month, as we share more details about how you’ll be able to visit with Thor at Disneyland park.

Ha. I can think of SOMEONE who may have to be dragged out of the park.

If you're referring to me, it's not going to be a problem as I don't expect they'll actually have Chris there for the meet and greet. I don't think I told you about the "Thor" that we saw at the D23 Expo one of the times we were waiting in line, did I? I was a little disappointed that Chris wasn't at Expo, but I was thrilled that Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins (!!!!!) were there. Oh, and Tom Hiddleston, too, but he'd already sung for us the day before. ;)

Is anyone else suffering super hero/comic book character fatigue? I have 0 interest in this stuff, but I realize it's me. Pop culture has moved on....

I think that Superheroes are to boys what Princesses are to girls. That isn't to say that either gender can't like Superheroes or Princesses though. I think we'll be seeing more and more Superheroes as the years go on.

I like Superheros too. I'm a girl who likes that stuff too. Growing up I was a tom boy, anyway I could get in the dirt was my past time. I agree with you bumblebeeonarose :)

Based on the ability to "visit" the homeworld, I would think that this will go where Iron Man currently is, but that certainly isn't laid out in the press release. It will be interesting to see where they put it and how much of Asgard we actually get to see.

Well, I've been suffering princess fatigue with Disney-related stuff for some time now, but it's certainly popular, so I just let others enjoy it and I try to avoid it. I think the proliferation of comic book heroes is because the current films are well made, so they're inclined to make more of them.

The line for Chris starts behind me. ;)

Wait, which Chris are you talking about? Cause this would be Chris H. for Thor, whereas for Captain America, it would be Chris E.

Not you.

:)

Oh, well, if it's the mutual friend I'm thinking of, I think she prefers Chris E? I could be wrong about that though.

I would be more excited to meet Thor than to meet Chris Hemsworth. ;)

I hope this will be during a time when I'm down there. I love the Iron Man stuff.

1) Only cause you'd get there first. ;)
2) It would be the polite thing to do since you would be saving my spot for me. :p

i think it would be there. It starts Nov 8th and since the Iron Man thing lasted a long time I would think Thor would as well.

I haven't seen these movies yet, but all this talk about Thor reminds me of Douglas Adams' "The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul." Hmmmm, where did I put that book? Must make time for a re-read soon.

I like the Marvel characters and storylines, but I wish they'd build them their own park and keep them out of my Disneyland.

Me either. I think they're basing this on the movie date?
