Does anyone know if this exclusive club in New Orleans Square still exists, and if so do they ever sell tickets on a one time basis?

Still exists. You must be a member or guest of a member to get admitted there. It's a 3-Year waiting list to be approved for membership, in addition to an initiation fee & annual fees starting at approx. $8,000.

What type of benefits do members get? I wonder what could make it worth all that money!

Well, you get into the park for free...

But you're still paying $50 a pop to eat there....

I say it is nonsence for the $50 meals. The prices are fine. Besides the gold being worthwhile, it is much like any exclusive club, be it Country or whatever. The less publiciy there is, the higher the appeal. I do hope you get to go one day.

My buddy can get in because he is a descendant of a past president.

Just find somebody you know that has president relatives.

It's a fairly decent restaraunt. You can drink there. Save your $$ and go to Black Angus a few times a year...

One might say such a thing, suggesting that we could all save our money and buy a new car once a year with the quantity of money we spend to achieve Disneyness.

But I contrast all of that with the simple notion that Disneyland is worth more than I can possibly spend. I will not accept that the city of Anaheim is just a hyper glorified store, or that Downtown Disney is some strip mall. Club 33 is fully respectable in all of its legacy and tradition, I only wish Black Angus was this enjoyable... I could just camp out there all day, instead of driving multiple hours to get some sort of superficial vacation.

disneygalforlife -- I wrote a fairly extensive article about it back in 2001. You can read about it here (http://www.mouseplanet.com/more/mm011127.htm). Enjoy!

I just read your article. I loved it. A great deal of information. I feel I understand about the club a little more. Thanks.
