Did I even spell it right? Anyway, I remember years ago being so excited when TT opened and now it is a faded memory. Last time I was at DL, we attempted to go on Roger Rabbit. Got half way through and it "broke down" and we escorted out of there. Has TT faded in your memory? Does it still get the crowds that it once did?

I know it has changed. I miss when it first opened and adults could go on everything.

We go back there to take pictures but it always seems so hot back there not sure why. But it was pretty crowded the day we went. It would be cool if you could play in the fountain:)

Not sure what type crowds it gets but for me it's merely an occasional diversion, not a destination. The kids like tooling around in there on Donald's boat and the mickey and Minnie houses. It opens late, it closes early. As a ride Roger rabbit is forgettable but the queue is nice, real nice. Gadget's is an underrated, albeit incredibly short, coaster.

My coolest memory of Toontown was a night (the Fantasmic 20th thing) when it stayed open well past dark. Getting to be in there a couple hours with it all lit up was a nice twist.

Toontown is a charming area to explore, but as MidwayManiac said, I don't find it a destination. It takes up an hour or two at most and then we don't go back there for the duration of the trip. But I say that from the perspective of someone without kids. I'm sure if you did have some and took advantage of the glorified playground elements, it would be different.

I wouldn't mind if they razed it and expanded Fantasyland.

I think it's a good idea that suffers from lack of maintenance and freshening. I enjoy RR but think it is due for some plussing; some additional elements or effects (and another attraction, thought I don't know how to work it in) would make a big impact. And it's sad that there is not much else back there beyond meet-and-greets and glorified playgrounds. I agree that Gadget is a fine entry-level coaster. I also think it's kind of weird that the rest of the Park has such attention paid to how it looks at night, and ToonTown closes early.

We enjoy Toontown, but our daughter is only 2. She loves that she can climb and play on almost everything in the area. Also, she's a big, BIG, fan of the coaster. I also like that the crowds there are not heavy. It's kind of nice when the park is slammed with people.

I also think it's kind of weird that the rest of the Park has such attention paid to how it looks at night, and ToonTown closes early.Toon Town has to close for a period during and after the fireworks for safety, so I understand why it closes early on fireworks nights - too much hassle to completely clear a land and then re-open it 90 minutes later, especially if the park is closing at 10 or 11.

However, I don't understand why it closes early on nights when there are no fireworks...

Toontown comes from the era of Indiana Jones. When they came out, they blew everyone away with the scope and details. Now, the paint is beginning to fade and the luster is lost

Though the charm is still there and should remain, it's time for a refurb to help keep the place look amazing

I think ToonTown is very cute -- and it looks absolutely beautiful when it gets dolled up for the holidays. It's a good place for little kids to get some wiggles out (especially in the little playground), and a great place to get photos. There's an incredible amount of detail everywhere you look.

Toontown is great....for kids. I don't spend much time there....if nothing else to ride Roger Rabbit....but it seems to be shut down more than it's operating.

I did have an interesting experience in Toontown once. There was a dispute in the line between 2 dads...they got into a shoving match, which I thought was totally ridiculous....especially in front of children....but out of nowhere, a couple of security personnel broke it up almost as soon as it started. And these security personnel were in "unmarked" clothing, or out of costume.....and I was amazed at the speed with which they responded. It taught me a very valuable lesson...BIG BROTHER IS ALWAYS WATCHING! Not that the thought of that scares me, because I'm probably on my best behavior when I'm in Disneyland....but it's comforting to know that if some stupid people get out of hand.

My experience was the opposite from BlkPearlCptn, as an adult when it opened I could NOT go on everything. Goofy's bounce house had a height limit as did Chip & Dale's slide (if I recall correctly). Donald's Boat could be explored, but the slide in the center was just for kids. Now, Goofy's house is just an area to walk around/look inside; Donald's Boat had the slide removed/boarded up; and Chip & Dale lets you walk up to the top, only to walk back down with nothing to look at once you reach the peak.

As a parent, I now understand that Donald's Boat has way too many entrances/exits and does not make for a good play area for toddlers in its old configuration but its frustrating that they were sooo cool back before I had kids and so boring now. Granted in my pre-kid days I didn't think of things like "I bet kids create foul 'stuff' in that ball pit and it's not properly cleaned out" or "wow, there are a lot of ways to separate parent from child in this area" so I might now have thought them as cool now as I did then. I don't remember enough about the Chip & Dale slide to tell you why it was removed.

TT makes for some great pictures though!! The lawyers played a part in taking away a lot of the fun in TT. I was glad my DS now 18 got to experience some of the fun that used to be there. We always play with the instruments at the Mickey Fountain and take pics as well at the Roger Rabbit Fountain trying to look like him. We ride Roger Rabbit and when my friend's DD is with us we ride Gadget. I agree it needs some paint and this Christmas I hope the ugly WDW decorations will be gone and the old ones come back!!

I agree - on nights where there are no fireworks, it seems odd that they'd choose to close the area early. I also think opening it an hour later than the rest of the park is a little strange.

When my kids were small, we spent a lot of time in ToonTown. They LOVED Goofy's when it was a bounce house, and both of them road the Gadget Coaster as their first "thrill" ride. I never liked that most of the food buildings are closed all of the time, and think they could better utilize that part of the "town" with another kid-friendly ride.

Yeah, it's sad that it closed down. The kids used to love it - used to call it Mickey's Cable Car.

All of the responses above confirm by belief that Toon Town needs a major refurb or should make way for something better.

How, exactly, did my post do that?
